Alina had just wanted to live and work as an average guild receptionist. It’s a safe job, pays well, and she likes it. However, the adventurers can make her job unnecessarily frustrating. That’s when she rolls her sleeves up and fixes the issue.
We’ll see how Alina succeeds where other adventurers fail after I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time (Guild no Uketsukejo desu ga, Zangyo wa Iya nanode Boss wo Solo Tobatsu Shiyo to Omoimasu) premieres on January 10th, 2025.
Mato Kousaka and Gaou released the original light novel, I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time, on March 10th, 2021. ASCII Media Works has published eight volumes in the Dengeki Bunko imprint.
Our cute clerk, the ace adventurer who finds out about her after-hours work, and a fellow guild receptionist are as follows:
- Alina Clover — Rie Takahashi (Pepper from Urusei Yatsura). The titular guild receptionist from the city of Ifur. She is secretly a top-ranked adventurer who prefers the laid-back life of desk work.
- Jade Scrade — Kentaro Kumagai (a demon from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). The Leader of the top-ranked Silver Sword party. He discovers Alina’s secret alias as the “Executioner.”
- Lyra — Yu Serizawa (Mini Yaemori from Rent-A-Girlfriend). Alina’s coworker. She has a crush on the mysterious “Executioner.”
CloverWorks maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals there. She takes a heavy-handed approach to workplace mishaps.
I May Be a Guild Receptionist, but I Hate Working Overtime!
Alina Clover is a popular and hard-working guild receptionist. She thoroughly handles her tasks with care. Alina’s job pays well and offers good benefits, so what’s not to love? It’s the adventurers themselves. The dungeon becomes more challenging when egotistical adventurers can’t clear it quickly. Alina dons a disguise to fix the issue. Guild receptionists cannot have side jobs, but delayed dungeon clearings make her main job unbearable.
Alina has a divine gift to summon “Giant God’s Hammer.” She can take on the highest-level enemies and clear out the dungeons actual adventurers have problems with. Her idyllic life becomes threatened when Jade of the Silver Blade party discovers her secret life as the Executioner. He invites her to join his party, but she sternly rejects his proposal. The Guild Master Glenn Gallia extends the same offer. Trouble is on the horizon, and they need her hammer.
