The wait seems to be finally over as the 43rd issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump confirms that Yoshihiro Togashi’s popular manga series Hunter X Hunter will return on September 22. The manga’s 380th chapter was published on April 9 then the manga went on a 5-month hiatus.
Hunter X Hunter centers on the adventures of Gon as he takes the Hunter’s Examination to be like his father who is renowned Hunter. His purpose was also to find him after he found out that he was still alive. During the exam, he became friends with fellow hunter applicants Leorio, Kurapika, and Killua.
The 35th compiled volume of the manga was released in Japan last February. Its popularity branched out into two anime series, several OVAs, and two anime films. It was also announced recently that a 3D action smartphone game Hunter X Hunter Greed Adventure will be released this winter.
This isn’t the first time Togashi’s series has been on a hiatus. The manga went on hiatus last September promising that the series will return before the end of the year. It then returned on January 29 on this year’s 9th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump.
