Hoshikuzu Telepath (Stardust Telepath) is a cute story about an introverted girl who dreams of meeting aliens. She gets her chance when a lively girl announces herself as such on the first day of school. Someone tagged the series as yuri, so maybe they become more than friends. We’ll find out when the series premieres in October 2023. Could the trailer perhaps have some clues?
Studio Gokumi has set up a promotional home page for Hoshikuzu Telepath and an official Twitter page. The studio keeps fans and potential viewers current with new announcements and behind-the-scenes information. They have also provided a nice key visual to enjoy.
A Lonely Girl Dreams of Alien Friends
Hoshikuzu Telepath follows Umika Konohoshi (voiced by Yurie Funato) as she laments her inability to connect with people. She’s quiet and easily flustered. Umika dreams of meeting aliens, especially those who can read her mind since she can’t talk to others. Her dreams were eventually fulfilled on the first day of high school.
Yu Akeuchi (voiced by Seria Fukagawa) burst into the classroom after missing introductions. She explained that her spaceship crashed, thus delaying her arrival. The other students took it as a joke and even teased that aliens were “stale.” Umika leaped for joy and tried to gather her courage to befriend Yu. Unfortunately, her voice failed her, and she couldn’t pronounce a word from her alien dictionary.
Despite this setback, Yu makes the first move and greets Umika with the alien greeting. Umika blushes and fails to speak, prompting Yu to wonder if she has a cold. Yu seemed to read Umika’s mind when Yu pressed their foreheads together. She noted Umika’s nervousness and desire for outer space. Yu explained that she has the power of “forehead telepathy” and once again declared that she is an alien. Then Umika fainted. Their friendship began in quite a memorable way.
Hoshikuzu Telepath Origins
Rasuko Okuma began writing and illustrating Hoshikuzu Telepath on May 9th, 2019. Houbunsha has since published three volumes in their Manga Time Kirara magazine.
