Go! Go! Loser Ranger! (Sentai Daishikkaku) is another one of those stories where “the heroes don’t act very heroic.” This Super Sentai-style hero team is addicted to bloody combat and fame. We’ll see how bad these supposed “good guys” are when the series premieres sometime in 2024. Until that ambiguous time arrives, let’s watch the new trailer.
Negi Haruba (The Quintessential Quintuplets) first released his Go! Go! Loser Ranger! manga series on February 3rd, 2021. Kodansha has since released eleven volumes in Weekly Shonen Magazine.
Our heroic villain and two villainous heroes are as follows:
- Foot Soldier D — Yusuke Kobayashi (Dino in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). An otherwise regular grunt in the monster army. He plans to infiltrate the heroes to destroy them from within.
- Sesera Sakurama / Pink Keeper — M・A・O (Fumika Sagisawa in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls). The leader of the Pink Battalion and Hibiki’s older sister. Her transformation allows her to walk.
- Sosei Akabane / Red Keeper — Yuichi Nakamura (Gray Fullbuster in Fairy Tail). The leader of the Dragon Keepers and commander of the Red Battalion. His friendly and heroic public persona belies his cruel and sadistic nature.

Who Can Save Us When Even the Heroes Are Villains?
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! has the initial makings of a standard Super Sentai series. The Villainous Army, composed of evil monsters and grunts, invaded Earth thirteen years ago. A brave group of heroes, known as “The Divine Dragon Rangers, the Dragon Keepers,” rose up to stop them. These heroes triumphed over the Villainous Army in a year, saving Earth. However, that’s just the beginning of our story.
Thirteen years have passed since the initial invasion, and the Dragon Keepers are still fighting the grunts of the former Villainous Army. They’ve become enslaved to the Dragon Keepers and must continue to relive their defeat every Sunday. These beings are, effectively, immortal, so no matter how many times they’re brutally crushed by the heroes, they can keep going.
Foot Soldier D has since become frustrated with his lot in life and decided to take matters into his own hands. His plan is to infiltrate the Dragon Keepers and destroy them from within. It’s not a lost cause. Because he can change form with his abilities and will find unexpected support during his mission.
