The Kinnikuman legacy continues! Buff wrestlers from different planets duke it out in the same ring for supremacy. Western fans might have barely remembered the title from the 2002 4Kids anime Ultimate Muscle: The Kinnikuman Legacy. Our favorite buff wrestler must defend his throne from the Perfect Large Numbers in Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc. We’ll see how his team fares when this anime premieres on July 7th, 2024.
Yudetamago (Takashi Shimada and Yoshinori Nakai) released the original Kinnikuman manga series from May 28th, 1979, to May 4th, 1987. They continued their grand work on November 28th, 2011. Shueisha has published 85 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump and Shu Play News.
Three of our ultimate muscle wrestlers are as follows:
- Suguru Kinniku / Kinnikuman — Mamoru Miyano (Doma from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). The heir to the throne of Planet Kinniku. He is a proud and honorable hero.
- Meat Alexandria — Sumire Uesaka (Hayase Nagatoro from Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro). Meat is Suguru’s small best friend and trainer.
- Terryman — Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Another of Suguru’s best friends and fellow wrestlers.
Production I.G has maintained a home page, a YouTube channel, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc. You can find more series information and the key visuals there. Fans can see the galaxy-wide cast ready to fight inside the ring.
Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc Breaks a Peace Treaty
Suguru Kinniku, also known as Kinnikuman, is the rightful heir of a kingdom. He is destined to rule Planet Kinniku, a world where heroes are born. However, his parents accidentally abandoned Suguru in Japan, leaving him unaware of his origins. Suguru aspired to be a hero, but his goofball nature made it harder for him. His parents mistook a pig for the infant Suguru, and that pig overthrew his father. As such, they sent Meat to pick Suguru up to reclaim the throne.
After many battles, Suguru won his place on the throne. Three factions signed a peace treaty: Suguru’s Justice Chojin, the Devil Chojin, and the Perfect Chojin. This peace only lasted for a year and a half. The Perfect Large Numbers launched a surprise attack and challenged everyone to a contest of strength. Suguru and his friends must enter the ring once again.
