Funimation is keeping the news cycle rolling with another simulcast announcement on their official blog!
The latest announcement to hit the news wires is the adventure series based on the Japanese gacha game, Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle! which is currently scheduled to premiere on Japanese airwaves starting April 5th, 2020. The series will stream on the Funimation Now platform in Japanese and English.
Funimation describes the story as follows:
Shachibato! takes place in the city of Gatepia, which was developed close to the Gate, where citizens gain access to Kirakuri, an energy fundamental to their way of the life and to humanity.
But there’s competition in Gatepia, as thousands of corporations seek to become the strongest and obtain the most Kirakuri. Main character Minato, the newest president of Kibo Company, is looking to make it big by hiring the best employees to become the greatest fantasy adventuring company ever!
For those of you who missed it when it was first posted back in January, a promotional video that shows off the character designs and main story beats is available.
C2C will produce the animation (Broken Blade, Harukana Receive, High School Fleet) with Hiroki Ikeshita (Harukana Receive episode director) sitting in the director’s chair. Kenta Ihara (Saga of Tanya the Evil) will handle the series composition, character designs are being created by Keisuke Watanabe, and the music will be composed by Yukari Hashimoto (Sarazanmai, Mawaru Penguindrum).
Veteran actress Yui Horie will lead the cast as ‘Guide.’ Supporting her will be Yoshino Aoyama (Makoto), Azumi Waki (Akari), Shun Horie (Minato), Kana Ichinose (Yutoria), Sumire Uesaka (Valmi), and Taku Yashiro (Raiba).
The game was launched in Japan back in October 2019 for both iOS and Android devices (it is currently unavailable in English).
As I’ve stated before, I wish that I could check out this game ahead of the anime premiere but I suppose I’ll just have to settle for watching the series and hoping that it is translated someday.
