Funimation Now Streaming Demon Slayer English Dub

At the time of this writing, it’s a brisk Tuesday morning and I can already tell that this is going to be a pretty big week for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba news!

Starting things off, Funimation is at it again with their big “let’s kick the week off right” Monday announcements. On Monday, December 8th, Funimation revealed that they are now streaming the English dub of Demon Slayer for their fans in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland. As in, right this second. Like, right now.

The English dub was produced by Bang Zoom! Entertainment and stars Zach Aguilar as Tanjiro and Abby Trott as Nezuko. Other cast members include Bryce Papenbrook and Aleks Le.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, or in a cave, or underwater, or in space… you get the idea, Demon Slayer is the series to beat right now. It’s been absolutely impossible to get away from it ever since it first premiered in the spring season of 2019 and has been the new series that is basically a license to print money. The series is so popular in fact that for a single weekend, the movie sequel titled Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc was the most popular movie in the entire world, taking the number one spot on the worldwide movie rankings!

Originally a manga created by Koyoharu Gotōge, which launched in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 2016 and ran until May 2020, the series is a dark story about a young boy named Tanjiro who is trying to save his sister after their entire family is slaughtered and she is turned into a savage demon. The final volume shipped in Japan on December 4th, 2020, and as you can see, there were plenty of people waiting to get their hands on it! Meanwhile, on this side of the ocean, Viz Media has been releasing new volumes monthly since May 2020.

The previously mentioned new movie, which premiered in Japan in October 2020, is currently slated for a theatrical release in North America in early 2021, but those plans could change at any given moment depending on the state of the world within the next few months.
