Over the last couple of decades, Saitama prefecture has made a strong play towards becoming the new otaku mecca. Their efforts included having hit series after hit series take place somewhere within the prefecture, including Lucky Star, AnoHana, and Kamisama Kiss. Now, they’re making their strongest push yet with the opening of the world’s first fully anime-themed hotel called EJ Anime Hotel, located in Tokorozawa (just a few minutes north of Tokyo).
Opening for business this month, the hotel promises that every single room in the hotel will be themed after a rotating selection of anime series. The first five series to be featured include some of the most popular titles of recent history; A Certain Scientific Railgun T, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out, KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World, Yuki Yuna is a Hero, and Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.

In addition to getting to stay in rooms that are themed around your favorite series, you also get to take home goods such as postcards and placemats, which will feature the characters in hotel specific art.
Is that still not enough for you? There are also special series-specific stamp rallies where your aim is to collect as many stamps as possible to unlock special artwork and voice work.
If you’re interested in checking out one of these rooms though, you should probably do it soon, because the hotel has already stated that they plan to rotate the series that are featured on a regular basis (though it’s unknown how often “regular” means in this case).
If you were to stay in an anime-themed hotel, like the EJ Anime Hotel, what series would you want your room to be themed after?
