The official website of the anime adaptation of Yuuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki’s Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma (Shokugeki no Souma) manga has revealed the first key visual for the anime’s upcoming third season, Shokugeki no Souma: San no Sara (Food Wars! The Third Plate), which will follow the battle against the Council of Ten.
In addition, it has been revealed that Erina Nakiri will be getting a new voice actress. Risa Taneda (Rory Mercury from GATE) will not be reprising her role as Erina Nakiri in season 3, due to recovering from health issues related to her throat. Taneda has been on hiatus since September 2016 but has been slowly starting to work again. Instead, Erina will now be voiced by Hisako Kanemoto (Ika Musume from Shinryaku! Ika Musume).

Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma is a Japanese shounen manga series written by Yuuto Tsukuda and illustrated by Shun Saeki. Yuki Morisaki also works as a collaborator, providing the recipes for the series. Individual chapters have been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump since November 26, 2012, with tankōbon volumes being released by Shueisha. As of May 2017, 24 volumes have been released in Japan. The series is licensed by Viz Media, who has been releasing the volumes digitally since March 18, 2014, and released the first volume in print on August 5, 2014. An anime adaptation by J.C.Staff aired between April 3, 2015 and September 25, 2015. A second season aired between July 2, 2016 and September 24, 2016.

Yukihira Souma’s dream is to become a full-time chef in his father’s restaurant and surpass his father’s culinary skill. But just as Yukihira graduates from middle schools his father, Yukihira Jouichirou, closes down the restaurant to cook in Europe. Although downtrodden, Souma’s fighting spirit is rekindled by a challenge from Jouichirou which is to survive in an elite culinary school where only 10% of the students graduate. Can Souma survive?
