As with many other isekai series, a Japanese salaryman worked to his death. He then awoke in a medieval fantasy world as the son of a proud noble family. An unfavorable result from his magic compatibility test shatters his idyllic life. Faced with death or exile, this new isekai protagonist packs up to lead a remote village. We’ll see how well he does in the frontier when Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord (Okiraku Ryoshu no Tanoshii Ryochi Boei: Seisan-kei Majutsu de Na mo Nakimura o Saikyo no Josai Toshi ni) sometime in 2026.
Sou Akaike and Kururi released the original Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord light novel on September 25th, 2021. Overlap has since published eight volumes in the Overlap Novels imprint.

- Van Nei Fertio — Yumi Uchiyama (Puck from Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-). A young reborn nobleman with a prodigious creation skill.
- Till — M.A.O (Lena Tally from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? II). A cute and loyal maid.
- Khamsin — Mariya Ise (Himeno from Chainsaw Man). A peasant boy that Van saved from abuse and slavery.

A Next Life Performing Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord
Van awoke one fine day with memories of his past life. He was an overworked and underappreciated Japanese salaryman who worked himself to the brink for a greedy boss. His 30-year-old mind and his 2-year-old body made him seem like a child genius. Van presented himself as knowledgeable and kind, which made him win over the people around him. All except his father and brothers.
Van’s family comes from a long line of mighty warriors. It’s expected that they all inherit a combat-ready skill, such as mastery of one of the four elements. Van inherited the common-rank creation skill. He must have gone to the Elric School of Making Things by Hand. His father was ready to cut him down at the ripe age of eight. Murcia, his older brother, stepped in and suggested that Van rule a remote village that is two weeks away by carriage. Van’s next step is to construct a home and make improvements to the town using his creation skill.
