If you’ve been impatiently waiting for the new season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, you’re going to want to sit down because we have a huge update regarding the second season!
We already knew that the highly anticipated second season was going to air before the end of the year, but now we can report for certain that the series will air starting in October and will run for two continuous cours. That means all of you Tanjiro and Nezuko fans can bask in their glory all the way through to the spring.
Additionally, a secondary report has popped up about a statement released by Yuriko Nakamura, the manager of Fuji TV’s programming department. In the statement, Nakamura says that though this season takes place in the red-light district, the story will remain uncut. Naturally, the episodes will have to go through the standard broadcasting checks to make sure it’s suitable for air, but other than that, the story will appear just as it does in the manga. It’s for this reason that the airing of the series won’t take place until 11:15 pm on Fuji TV.
For those wondering where you’ll be able to watch the series outside of Japan, Funimation has you covered as they’ve already revealed their plans to simulcast the series as it airs.
Credit where it is due; Demon Slayer is an incredibly pretty series to look at and the story moves at a brisk pace. While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it’s impossible to argue that the series has found its audience and they are not being shy about their love for the series. I’ve said this before but I’m now very curious to know how many Tanjiro’s and Nezuko’s we’re going to see running around convention halls in 2022 and beyond. I’m willing to bet a lot.
