A band of thirteen heroes just learned why it’s best to let devil beast kings lie. The Kingdom of Hiden targeted the title character of Clevatess: Maju no O to Akago to Shikabane no Yusha (Clevatess: The King of Magical Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse Hero), and he reacted in kind. We’ll see what form his wrath takes when this anime series premieres on an unannounced date.
Yuji Iwahara released the original Clevatess manga on August 12th, 2020. Line Digital Frontier published seven volumes in the Line Manga service.
Our fallen hero and her sworn enemy are as follows:
- Alicia — Haruka Shiraishi (Chitose Shirakawa from The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten). A hero from Sohgo village who fell in battle against Clevatess.
- Clevatess — Yuichi Nakamura (Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail). One of the Four Devil Beast Kings who had declared his intent to judge humanity.

Clevatess Targets Humanity
The Four Devil Beast Kings are terrifying creatures who have isolated the five tribes of Edethea from the rest of the world. Legends state that if people could slay these beings, they could reach across the vast seas to explore the rest of the world. The King of Hiden put his faith in these legends and tasked thirteen heroes to slay just one of these creatures: Clevatess of the Moonlight.
The battle was a complete route. The thirteen heroes and their fellow soldiers were all wiped out, and Hiden fell to ruin. A single Devil Beast King destroyed an entire kingdom in a night. Clevatess denounced King Hiden’s unprovoked attack on him and announced his intent to judge the rest of humanity. He executed the king and departed. A dying woman begged him to care for her son and argued that her child was innocent of the crimes that Clevatess had condemned humanity for. He agreed and revived the hero Alicia to assist him in caring for the boy. Whether humanity survives depends on how well Alicia and the child appeal to Clevatess.
