In case you missed it, it was recently revealed that the Attack on Titan manga created by Hajime Isayama will be ending soon. The confirmation of the final arc was revealed in the official Twitter account of the Japanese documentary program Jounetsu Tairiku last week.
In the recently aired episode of the MBS news program, the Attack on Titan manga and Isayama were featured. The TV show’s production team visited him at his studio and discussed how he was able to create and produce such a popular and successful series.

During the said interview, Isayama teased on what appears to be a work-in-progress layout of the manga’s closing scene. He was very open enough to share the rough sketch of the final panel to the show.

The rough sketch revealed a long-haired man from behind, holding and cradling a baby gently into his protective arms. The text on the rough sketch of the final panel says “You’re free…”.
Hajime Isayama said back in 2014 that he wanted to end the series in three more years. The Attack on Titan Editor Shintaro Kawakubo also made a similar statement in the same year that “The serialization is slated to end in three to four years.”
The manga was released in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009 and compiled in 26 volumes so far in Japan. Its popularity expanded to a three-season anime series and two Japanese live-action films. A Hollywood film adaptation of the manga is also confirmed and will be produced by Warner Bros.
The franchise is a massive worldwide success with the manga volumes sold over 86 million copies in print. The second part of the third season of the Attack on Titan anime is slated to air in April 2019.
