Gust’s breakthrough RPG hit Atelier Ryza has grown to become quite popular and recently has been receiving some much deserved merchandising. The wholesome adventures of titular alchemist have been successful enough to warrant a sequel title coming later this year. Fans who want to relive the story will soon be able to do so thanks to the official manga.
Announced on the official Gust Twitter account, the manga will be drawn by Riichu who posted a teaser image for the manga. Riichu’s prior works include some lesser-known manga such as Nightmare☆Night Party! and Mochiron de Gozaimasu, Ojousama making the Atelier Ryza manga his most high profile project to date. Not much else is known about the manga at this time but it will be serialized in Famitsu Magazine later this fall.
To celebrate the announcement of Atelier Ryza 2, the official Gust online store is holding the “Rising Ryzafest” — an online event selling a variety of Atelier Ryza 2 merchandise. Offerings on the site currently include a tapestry featuring artwork of Ryza and her best friend Klaudia for ¥4,500, clear files featuring official character artwork for ¥1,001, and a canvas tote bag with the mysterious fairy Fi on it for ¥2000. Other items such as hoodies and wall scrolls are currently in the works are will be available at a later date.
But for fans that have a little bit more expendable income and truly wish to show off their love for Ryza in a big way, there is no better way than purchasing their very own life sized Ryza statue. The statue was originally shown off at Tokyo Game Show 2019 at Gust’s booth drawing the attention of many attendees and being the subject of numerous photos. According to Famitsu, the statues go for ¥2,750,000 (about $26,000 in US dollars) and will only be sold if at least 10 people sign up to preorder the massively hand crafted statues. Fans with deep wallets who hope enough other fans that are also as well off can have until August 30th to register on Gust’s official site.
