A cute and quiet girl typically sits alone. She has various difficulties connecting with people. A scary-looking guy with his own interpersonal issues reaches out and connects with her. These two make even more friends as they improve their relationship, including a shy gyaru girl. We’ll see how they get along when Aharen-san wa Hakarenai (Aharen Is Unfathomable) Season 2 premieres sometime in April 2025.
Asato Mizu released the original Aharen-san wa Hakarenai manga series between January 29th, 2017, and April 30th, 2023. Shueisha published all seventeen volumes in Shonen Jump+. Felix Film’s anime adaptation premiered on April 2nd, 2022.
The fated couple and their gyaru friend are as follows:
- Reina Aharen — Inori Minase (Itsuki Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets). A quiet girl who lacks a sense of distance. She can quickly become clingy, which makes people uncomfortable.
- Matsuboshi Raido — Takuma Terashima (Lent Marslink from Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout). A stoic guy with a gentle personality. He reaches out to Reina and earns her friendship very quickly.
- Riku Tamanaha — Nao Toyama (Takao and Atago from Kantai Collection). A gyaru with a flashy fashion sense. She’s actually quite shy and longs for real friendship.
Felix Film has maintained a home page, a YouTube channel, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Aharen-san wa Hakarenai. There, you can find additional series information and the key visuals. They have fun even if they don’t express it.
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Makes a New Friend
Reina Aharen is a shy and soft-spoken girl who has difficulty communicating with people for various reasons. She can also become clingy with potential friends, making things awkward for herself and others. Her lonely days end when Matsuboshi Raido approaches her. His scary face and quiet demeanor hide a kind and gentle soul.
While these two forge a strong bond, their teacher Ms. Tobaru looks on and enjoys the “wholesome” display before her. The very tall Mitsuki Oshiro is initially wary of Matsuboshi, but her opinions change when Reina speaks highly of him. Reina and Mitsuki reunite with their third friend from their elementary school group, Riku Tamanaha. Riku became a gyaru and now desires to find true friends.
