Not many anime protagonists get to choose how they’re reborn. Most would like a cheat skill and an advantage in their next life. A brave knight fell in battle and was reborn with cheat-like skills. Unfortunately for him, those skills belong to behemoths. A monster hunter became an S-Rank monster. He was reborn, so a cute elf girl adopted him as a kitten. We’ll see what sort of life he leads when I’m a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl’s Pet premieres sometime in January 2025.
Nozomi Ginyoku and Mitsuki Yano released the original I’m a Behemoth light novel on March 30th, 2018. Micro Magazine has since published two volumes in the GC Novels imprint.
The reborn knight, his new owner, and her friend are as follows:
- Tama — Tasuku Hatanaka (Denki Kaminari from My Hero Academia). A knight reborn to live as a behemoth and an elf girl’s pet.
- Aria — Hinaki Yano (Kitasan Black in Uma Musume Pretty Derby). A novice D-rank adventurer with stellar speed and agility.
- Vulcan — Tomori Kusunoki (Makima from Chainsaw Man). A blacksmith and Aria’s friend.
Studio Zero-G has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote I’m a Behemoth. You can find additional series information and the key visuals there. Cute girls surround him, and he can’t do anything about it.
I’m a Behemoth and an Elf Girl’s Pet
A brave knight fell in battle, but that wasn’t the end for him. He has been reborn as a behemoth, the highest-ranked monster in the labyrinth. His absorption skill even allows him to gain new skills from others. However, he looks like a kitten, and his low level makes him prey for monsters. He nearly met his end again against a dragon until a cute elf saved his life.
Aria took the reborn knight home and named him Tama. She assumed him to be a normal kitten despite his use of magic. The guild leader suggests he’s an “elemental cat” rather than a behemoth, so Tama is safe for now. The guild leader also advised that elemental cats grow to two meters and can crossbreed with other species. Aria is somehow okay with this. Tama can continue his adventurous lifestyle with new companions who do not mind his animal form.
