Receptionists are the real heroes of adventurer’s guilds. I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time (Guild no Uketsukejou desu ga, Zangyou wa Iya nanode Boss wo Solo Toubatsu Shiyou to Omoimasu) stars a receptionist in the lead for employee of the month. Well. She’s also breaking guild rules but has a good reason for it. We’ll see if she gets away with it when her anime series premieres sometime in 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Mato Kousaka and Gaou released the original Guild Receptionist light novel on March 10th, 2021. ASCII Media Works has since published seven volumes in the Dengeki Bunko imprint.
Our cute clerk and the ace adventurer who finds out about her after-hours work are as follows:
- Alina Clover — Rie Takahashi (Pepper from Urusei Yatsura). The titular guild receptionist from the city of Ifur. She is secretly a top-ranked adventurer who prefers the laid-back life of desk work.
- Jade Scrade — Kentarō Kumagai (demon from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). The Leader of the top-ranked Silver Sword team of adventurers. He discovers Alina’s secret alias as the “Executioner.”

The Legendary Guild Receptionist Fights After Hours
Alina is our guild receptionist, and she loves her job. Though she was a top-ranked adventurer, Alina prefers a desk clerk’s stable and safe life. However, her work has its downsides. Whenever a dungeon boss proves too much to manage, adventurers swarm her counter for jobs to make extra cash before the boss is eventually defeated. This forces Alina to work even when the office is closed for the day.
Alina takes up her former profession whenever this happens. Having a side job is against guild rules, but she prefers eliminating a boss solo to working overtime hours. Thus, the legend of the Executioner is born. A solo adventurer wielding the mighty Hammer of the Giant God will appear to defeat even the most powerful of bosses. This is all so Alina can clock out on time. Unfortunately for her, another top-ranked adventurer may have uncovered her unsanctioned after-hours job.
