There’s nothing more troublesome than being the only human in a world of anthropomorphic animals. Then, it’s fortunate that the human in question is a cute girl who masterfully swings a word as large as her. Bye Bye, Earth chronicles her adventures as she tries to find a place where people will accept her. Will she find other humans? We’ll find out when the series premieres sometime in 2024. Until then, we have a new trailer to enjoy. It’s a shorter follow-up to the first trailer but still shows Belle’s cute and cool traits.
Tow Ubukata and Yoshitaka Amano worked on the original Bye Bye, Earth novel series. Kadokawa Shoten published two volumes on December 25th, 2000.
Our cute swordsman is introduced as such:
- Belle Lablac — Fairouz Ai (Power in Chainsaw Man). Belle is the sole human in the world of animal people. She wields the great sword Runding in battle.
Liden Films has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Bye Bye, Earth. You can find additional series information and Key Visuals there.
Bye Bye, Earth and Goodnight Enemies
Belle is a girl without a home. She barely even has a name that anyone would recognize. Bye Bye, Earth tells the tale of a human girl searching for a place to belong. Belle Leblanc is the only human in a world of humanoid animals. With no fur, scales, or claws, they refer to her as a “Noppera-bo.” Although that term refers to a faceless spirit, it’s being used here to denigrate Belle as someone with nothing to her name. She’s faceless and nameless to these beings.
But don’t feel too bad for Belle, though, as she’s a cute and mighty swordswoman. Her great sword, Runding, is as large as she is, and she swings it with little effort. Indeed, Belle also wields magic that sees her cleave through her enemies. Her skills will undoubtedly aid in her search for a place to belong, where humans like her live and thrive.
