Introverts will do a lot to avoid having to leave home. We are a hermit-like people who avoid unfamiliar places as much as possible. 365 Days to the Wedding (Kekkon suru tte, Hontou desu ka / Are You Really Getting Married?) follows two people with no experience in love pretending to be engaged to avoid an overseas transfer. We’ll see if they pull it off when this anime series premieres sometime in 2024. Let’s enjoy the trailer until then.
Tamiki Wakaki (The World God Only Knows, 16bit Sensation) wrote and illustrated the original 365 Days to the Wedding manga between March 16th, 2020, and June 12th, 2023. Shogakukan released all eleven volumes in Weekly Big Comic Spirits.
Our two star-crossed travel agents are as follows:
- Takuya Ohara — Kentaro Kumagai (demon from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). He is a shy and introverted man who must carefully consider his words before he speaks.
- Rika Honjoji — Saori Hayami (Oyuki from Urusei Yatsura (2022)). She is a stoic and introverted woman who gives off an angry aura. However, she merely has trouble expressing her emotions. She has a great fondness for maps.
Ashi Productions has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote 365 Days to the Wedding. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there.
Avoiding Siberia in 365 Days to the Wedding
Two introverts unite to stay in Japan! Takuya Ohara and Rika Honjoji both work in the planning department of the JTC travel agency. Neither of them gets along with their coworkers. Takuya is shy and has trouble speaking in public, and Rika is stoic with a similar public speaking problem. They’re happiest at home, where Takuya has a cat named Kama, and Rika can enjoy looking at maps. Their solitary lives are threatened when a representative of the JTC head office announces the formation of a branch office in Irkutsk, Russia.
Takuya and Rika are absolutely determined to avoid becoming a manager in Siberia. However, someone must go, and single people are the primary targets. Rika and Takuya had a fateful meeting in a park, and they briefly talked about the proposed transfer to Siberia. It was the first time words had passed between them. But it ended when Rika proposed marriage to avoid their undesirable fate. The Irkutsk branch is scheduled to open in a year, and they must trick everyone into thinking they’re engaged for 365 days.
Do you plan to watch 365 Days to the Wedding later this year? Will Takuya and Rika pull off their scheme? Who is going to have to move to Siberia? Let us know in the comments below.
