My One-Hit Kill Sister is the newest isekai anime series to bring a typical shōnen protagonist into a world of sword and sorcery. Still, this one presents a different twist that might sound familiar: he’s joined in the new world by an entirely more powerful female family member. And she’s incredibly gorgeous and dotes on him quite a bit. After being announced a few months ago and seeing the first trailer a couple of months later, we have a new preview and a bonus.
The new PV also reveals the opening theme song Karei One Turn (Splendid One Turn) by TrySail.
Crunchyroll will begin streaming the series when it starts airing sometime in 2023.
Studio Gekkō put up a home page, and official Twitter account, with additional content, such as this impressive visual key art.
My One-Hit Kill Sister follows the story of Asahi, as he meets a terrible fate and gets hit by a truck while saving a little girl. He’s transported to another world, where he sells his cell phone to buy new gear and makes plans to live up to his isekai dreams. Asahi believes all the hype he’s seen in other isekai stories. And naturally assumes he has different cheats and skills to become a god. Unfortunately, he has no special skills to speak of. Just as he’s about to be knocked out, he thinks about his younger sister Maya, and she appears. Using her cheat skills, she one-shots a dragon and proves herself the real isekai protagonist. She’s also a complete brother-con. Maya confessed that, after crying about Asahi being in a coma and theorizing that he was transported to another world, she hit her head against a wall to follow him.
It seems like a premise similar to other series, like Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? (Okaa-san Online), and Mom, Please Don’t Come Adventuring With me! ~The Boy Who Was Raised by The Ultimate Overprotective Dragon, Becomes an Adventurer With His Mother~. Two series that make us think weird things, like shipping relatives, because that’s what the series is teasing us with. It worked out in Buso Renkin with actual twins and in Kaze no Stigma with cousins.
My One-Hit Kill Sister, titled in Japanese as One Turn Kill Sister in Another World: I Started Living in Another World with My Older Sister (Isekai One Turn Kill Nee-san: Ane Dōhan no Isekai Seikatsu Hajimemashita), started as a web novel series written by Konoe. Though the novel series began on December 28th, 2019, and continues to this day, there is no physical printing. A manga adaptation began publication on March 6th, 2020, with art by Kenji Taguchi, so that’s something fans can buy and enjoy. There are currently nine volumes for fans to collect and physically enjoy.
