National I Love My Feet Day was founded to promote foot health, nail care, and encourage people to wear supportive shoes.

As a series, Chainsaw Man places a heavy emphasis on power dynamics in relationships. Specifically, Denji’s subservient relationship to Makima is used to explore his trauma and immaturity. The humble foot fetish is an excellent way to portray a power imbalance! After all, throughout both history and fiction, washing another’s feet is a sign of utmost humility.
