A new cute alien girl with a heavenly aura descends upon a weary world. Mira joins the likes of Lum and Yu to bring starry-eyed girls that ease the woes of the local humans. A down-and-out chef needs a new job, and a beautiful caretaker offers him a job and a place to stay in Astro Note. We’ll see how these two get along when the series premieres sometime in April. Let’s enjoy the new trailer — and the opening theme — until then.
Shochiku employed Shinji Takamatsu, Haruki Kasugamori, and Kimiko Ueno to create Astro Note. Telecom Animation Film is animating the series.
Our new cute alien girl, our lucky chef, and a talking alien poodle are as follows:
- Mira Gotokuji — Maaya Uchida (Kaguya Yamai in Date A Live). The owner and landlord of Astro-sou. She is a terrible cook, so she hired Takumi to cook for her tenants. In reality, Mira is an alien and the heir to the throne of a distant planet.
- Takumi Miyasaki — Soma Saito (Himura Kenshin in Rurouni Kenshin). A skilled chef who recently lost his job. Mira offered him a new job cooking breakfast at Astro-sou. Takumi hopes to get closer to Mira.
- Naosuke — Junichi Suwabe (Archer/Emiya from Fate/stay night). An alien from Mira’s planet who took the form of an Earth poodle while assisting her.
Shochiku has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Astro Note. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there.
The Cute Alien Girl and Her Chef in Astro Note
Astro Note has everything a weary otaku needs: cute alien girls and perfectly animated food. Mira Gotokuji arrives from another planet and opens the Astro-sou, a charming home for all. She’s an alien princess and heir to a throne, but maybe it’s more fun to be a landlady. Her colorful tenants are promised breakfast in the morning, but Mira is a terrible cook. To remedy the situation, Mira hires Takumi Miyasaki, a skilled chef who recently lost his job.
Takumi was down on his luck and had little option but to accept the offer. He had some reservations about his job requiring that he move into Astro-sou. But it’s a good one, and he instantly became attracted to his new boss. His plans to win over Mira with his stellar cooking will likely receive some interference, what with the spy robots and other aliens arriving on Earth with their own plans.
