Do you remember what you were doing when you realized the waifu you were infatuated with was a guy? I do. It was a chilly November evening back in 2018 when I heard the words “Urushibara Ruka … daga otoko da!” It was twilight, there were no cicadas, and it wasn’t hot, but he was a guy. I might have had a few milliseconds of concern before I decided that this wasn’t a problem. The government turns the frogs gay, and anime turned me into a gynosexual. That moment led me here, and now I’m here to recommend three trap-centric shows that will make you question your heterosexuality.
Himegoto Is PEAK Daga Otoko Da!!
Here’s a bit of Kashou lore: I used to play in a glam metal band. My dad and all his “Christian” family hated the fact that I’d “dress as a girl” when I played live. One day, my dad’s displeasure reached its peak, and he broke down and screamed that if “I kept that up, one day, I’d like men.” I laughed at his homophobia and quickly forgot about it. Years later, I stumbled upon Himegoto and realized my dad was right! Glam Metal led me down the road that culminated with me crushing on an anime dude.
When Hime Arikawa’s parents abandoned him and his sister, they left behind a rather unpleasant moment — a mountain of debt. Unfortunately for Hime, his parents’ debt transferred to him. Realizing that Hime has an effeminate appearance, loan sharks force him to don a maid outfit and try to force him into prostitution so they can get their money back. Luckily, right as Hime was about to get the D, the Shimoshina High School student council saved him … or so he thought.
If you’re looking for a quick, ecchi, and comedic watch, check out Himegoto! This is an anime that gleefully decided to be off-kilter and did it in the best way possible. If you have ever heard that this show is sexist and mean-spirited, it is. But this anime is so ludicrous that you’ll finish it in a single sitting.
Norio Tsukudani wrote and illustrated the Himegoto manga. The manga boasts six tankoubon volumes. Asahi Productions animated the 13-episode, 4-minute short-form anime. Himegoto is available on Crunchyroll.

I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!?
I already know that someone’s going to send me hateful messages on X because the trap isn’t the main character in this anime. But this is a show that’s filled with fan service. And whenever the person of dubious sexual orientation is on screen, it makes me tingle, so I’ll recommend it.
I’ll be honest, this is a “turn your brain off” type of show. This anime is smutty, idiotic, and it loves dumb jokes. It’s also very crudely animated at times. But there are busty ninjas and a male version of Lalatina from Konosuba, so you know … watch it, it’s entertaining!
What would you do if a ninja in a skimpy outfit told you that monsters were going to attack you unless you fed and housed her? More importantly, what would you do if you agreed to her protection only to then find yourself accosted by a busty, masochistic, gender-dubious ninja? For most of us, we relegate those hypotheticals to fever dreams. Where Harry got an owl and a hobo telling him that he’s a wizard, Tsukasa got a NEET and cross-dresser telling him he’s a ronin! How does Atsumi deal with that acid-trip scenario? Check out I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi! on HIDIVE to find out!
This is the only recommendation on this list with an ongoing manga. Otaku NEET Kunoichi originally began as a web manga published on Kotatsu’s X account. Niconico Seiga’s No. 9 Comic began serializing the manga in February 2020. ASCII Media Works publishes the manga’s tankoubon volumes. Studio Quad animated the 24-episode TV anime adaptation. If you watch this series on HIDIVE, note that you’ll get twelve full-length episodes instead.

Senpai is an Otokonoko
Most of the time, you’ll say “daga otoko da!” because you were perving on what you thought was a girl, but he wasn’t. I call those moments the “daga otoko da!” of the groin. But what if you had a “daga otoko da!” of the heart? Well, if you do, you’re probably watching Senpai is an Otokonoko.
If you thought all my recommendations would be full of ecchi stuff, you were wrong. You can’t always be horny, weeb-kun! Sometimes you need to feel the feels, and that’s what you get with this anime. I’ll always appreciate and recommend any show that makes me genuinely think about a topic I don’t often consider. Senpai wa Otokonoko may not give you a dude to perv on. Instead, this anime gives you a dude to love.
So, what’s it about? When Saki Aoi confesses her love to Makoto Hanaoka, she expects rejection because they’re both women. But to her surprise, her rejection comes most unexpectedly. Turns out, the girl Saki admired isn’t really a girl! Makoto is a cross-dressing guy! Undeterred by this, Aoi-chan clings to Makoto in a desperate attempt to win his affection. But with how things are between them, is love even possible?
Pom wrote and illustrated Senpai is an Otokonoko. The series was on the Line Manga website from 2019 to 2021. Project No. 9 adapted the manga into a Summer 2024 anime and a February 2025 theatrical movie, Eiga Senpai wa Otokonoko: Ame Nochi Hare. Crunchyroll streams this heartfelt daga otoko da anime.
