One Room Third Season, Episode 7: Orisaki Saya Apologizes

One morning, you find a strange lady in your bed, who happens to be your upstairs neighbor Saya.

Episode 7 – “Orisaki Saya Apologizes”

Hmm.

If you are a fan of OL-types (office lady), One Room and Kantoku have you covered with the next girl this season. Saya Orisaki is 24 years old, sometimes drinks too much, and has a bad habit of speaking her mind aloud when she shouldn’t. I am impressed with how quickly One Room established her character quirks in less than three minutes. The small scene at the end of the episode where she looks around in wonder at a single man’s apartment but then claims to have a boyfriend was great. Saya is going to give us a short romantic comedy based on her character’s foibles.

One Room hasn’t done a lot of comedy. Natsuki, the pushy little sister, is the best example of a comedic character so far, so I’m curious to see what Saya brings us. I think the comedic tone for Saya’s story relates to her age and life circumstances. One Room also doesn’t do older characters, with 21-year-olds in college or pursuing music careers being the oldest girls in previous seasons. Yui, One Room’s Best Girl, will be 23 years old in her upcoming story, but we’ve watched her grow up. I want to see the funny way Saya’s personality became beat down and hesitant in a couple of years she’s been in the workforce.

Heh.

This one room looks like it belongs to a ronin. Uh, a ronin wouldn’t have an exceptionally large cup bra and pantyhose piled on the floor… A wonderful way to wake up. Of course. “Your” office lady neighbor from upstairs got drunk and crawled into “your” bed. Living the dream!

Saya Orisaki has a mistrustful and negative outlook. Poor girl. She partly blames “you” for not locking the door to “your” one room. She’s not wrong. Aw. Saya cries over a gift of instant soup. She’s had it rough since joining the workforce. Pantyhose and feet. Get your OL-type charm points right here! Saya noticed “you’re” studying for entrance exams. Ha. This girl has no filter! I’m starting to see why things might not be going so well for her in life.

Aw. Saya makes a sad looking picture sitting by herself on the swings. She offers to help “you” study in “your” one room for the real entrance exams to apologize for crawling into “your” bed the other morning. “You” should be thanking her, though. This lady is adorably hilarious. Obviously, she has no boyfriend. She’s a terrible liar, but she’s easy to forgive.

A green leaf flying into the end card makes Saya’s time a spring story. And if “you” were awake in the middle of the night, “you” would have seen Saya stumble into “your” one-room get ready to jump into bed.
