Slavers target the Litbeit Clinic, drawing Glenn and Sapphee into joining forces with a security raid against their headquarters.
Case 4 – “The Lamia with an Incurable Disease”
Hmm.
I expected Monster Girl Doctor to give me drama because of its postwar setting and this is the episode that delivered on that promise. Glenn’s growing harem aren’t just monster girls in love with him. They’re all capable monsters willing to protect the new kind of peace that exist between monsters and humans in Lindworm. The scenes with Tisalia and Sapphee filled in details of what a war crossing over generations would be like for certain kinds of monster families. Tisalia’s centaur family had a tradition of being soldiers of fortune. Sapphee’s lamia family had a tradition of being assassins known for their snake poison techniques. The sudden change from a war profiteering economy to one of mercantile trade was bound to be a rough transition for certain groups. I’m glad to see Monster Girl Doctor tackle the thorny issue of slave trafficking and how a new regime would stamp it out.
Because this episode was an action and suspense story, I wasn’t expecting Glenn to have an opportunity for accidental sexy time. I’m impressed Monster Girl Doctor still introduced the harpy girl character during a commando raid while Glenn had his hands all over her naked bottom half. That is creative problem solving and storytelling! It was also a fun detail that Sapphee’s spider lady friend Arahnia figured a snake lady would love snacking on a free egg. Snakes do love eating eggs whole, right? I’m loving Monster Girl Doctor’s attention to animal species’ aspects like that.
Heh.
Aw. What a happy accident for Glenn to find Sapphee at monster medical school. Dr. Cthulhy always has that knowing, mischievous, sexy look on her face. She probably paired Glenn and Sapphee together because she knew their childhood history and wanted to see “developments.”
And we’re back to the “cliffhanger” of Sapphee’s pregnant belly. She’s not fooling Glenn. She just wants to tease him. Right. It was that basket Arahnia brought over earlier. What’s in it? That’s a big egg. Couldn’t Sapphee tell it was an unfertilized harpy egg? Glenn noticed it quickly enough. Harpies in the world of Monster Girl Doctor need to lay eggs like chickens.
Uh oh. Here comes the drama. A bunch of people are raiding the Litbeit Clinic! Sapphee’s snake eyes pick up the infrared. The fairies do something else which is equally effective. Action! Don’t mess with a snake tail! These criminal types are dumb if they don’t case the places they raid. They just followed Glenn after he worked on Kunai’s limbs. Sapphee is a well-educated monster girl who knows how criminal elements think. How? Ohoho. Sapphee wants a fight!
Ah. Kunai was already on the job. Her monster girl posse planned on taking down this slaver crew tonight. These slavers are trafficking in harpies, so even a stray egg is important to them. Everything has a price in the black market. Ugh. There’s a human market for harpy eggs. This is not the free and open market of the egg laying show from Ishuzoku Reviewers. What do harpies do with their unfertilized eggs on their own?
The Lindworm security forces are running a huge raid on the slaving operation this night, so if Glenn and Sapphee want protection as they return the harpy egg, they’ll have to tag along with Kunai. Ah. It’s a harem reunion already? All the monster girls we’ve met already are going to be helping. Lulala is Skadi’s personal gondolier. Sapphee asks why Skadi is including her on a potentially dangerous situation. It’s part of her agreement for singing in front of the Central City Council Hall. That’s fine. Skadi assembled her own monster girl militia to deal with recalcitrant war veterans. More like Lindworm is like the Wild West of America and certain individuals are perfect for a posse. Can Glenn hear the low talker Skadi speak? This will be a factor in a subplot later.
Ouch. Arrows hit Kunai. It’s a good thing she can’t feel pain. Of course. Tisalia the Centaur should be involved in this operation. It’s totally a monster girl posse. I don’t believe her story at all! She claims to have gone to Glenn’s clinic at this late hour to “schedule their betrothal,” found the place in shambles, and tracked the ruffians to this bridge. Are you selling that bridge to Glenn too? Sapphee doesn’t buy that lame story either!
Tisalia has her hero moments in this scene with the mercenary veterans. The War has been over for ten years and Tisalia’s family of soldiers of fortune have found a way to prosper in this new era of peace. These slaving mercenaries have turned to criminal gang activity instead. Skadi’s posse of monster girls, ahem, monster deputy sheriffs, appears to have the advantage over the warmongering holdovers. The human slavers are also holding on to their racism, proved by the mercenary calling Tisalia a “horse.”
Aw. Lulala can’t help her crush on Glenn when he thanks her for their boat transport. Uh oh. The scarred boss man will fight Kunai. He claims he only handles monster eggs, not slaves. He had problems adjusting his mercenary business model to peacetime. Kunai says Skadi is much stronger than she appears. Well, she’s a dragon lady… She has similar tail moves to Sapphee.
Here are the harpies. One of them has an egg stuck in a duct. She looks like Illy from the opening credits. Dr. Glenn is going to make another monster girl moan in discomfort. The harpy character designs draw on Native American themes. Is it because they have a lot of feathers to decorate their clothes? I see a dream catcher with the shorts from the harpy in pain. Those strappy panties do not look tribal.
Not cool. Mercenaries should not be interrupting Glenn’s out-of-context sexy moaning time. Sapphee and Skadi will handle those rude beasts. Oh, so now Sapphee’s internal monologue explains her incurable disease. Ha! Mermaid hand water squirting is dangerous! Ooh. Sapphee’s snake mama is a dark-skinned beauty. Sapphee was prepared to assassinate the Litbeit household if the trade negotiations went south. No! A merc stabbed Sapphee with poison! Glenn keeps making the harpy moan. Priorities.
And Sapphee wakes up safe and sound. Ah. Glenn knew the poison wasn’t fatal, otherwise he would have rushed to Sapphee’s aid. Everything worked out for the monster girl security operation too. Hahaha! Sapphee’s big assassin secret was never a secret to the Litbeits. Sapphee worried over nothing.
Yes! Time for snake bondage play! Huh? Dr. Cthulhy doesn’t want these two to date while working at the same clinic? Why? Oh well. Sapphee still has too much poison in her. Aw. Sapphee’s incurable disease is that she’s in love with Glenn Litbeit. There’s another secret that’s not a secret.
Next time, Glenn horses around with two Centaur ladies.
