Kakushite! Makina-san!! has entertained me more with every episode, and I’m profoundly grateful for it. This show embodies what ecchi anime is supposed to be — stimulating, entertaining, and comedic. Makina-san a Love Bot?!, episode 7, had me laughing so hard and so long that I almost expelled my dinner.
WWWave and Studio BloomZ should have made this a full-length adaptation — times are bleak, and we need more happiness. Putting aside my displeasure at the amount of Kakushite! Makina-san!!, I’m content that the show seems to be increasing its plot, if even slightly. And now, to paraphrase Yugi, it’s time to re-re-re-review!
Makina-san a Love Bot?!, Episode 7 — Thick Waifu Turns Into a Loli … Wait a Minute
Do you know what this episode made me realize? I haven’t woken up with a boner since I had a hiking accident back in ’22. I should probably get that checked. Eita doesn’t share my predicament. After the poor lad recovers from the carnage he witnessed in his bathroom, he wakes up at full mast. Unfortunately for him, that’s not a wiggle stick he could use, as he had to find Makina’s body.
Loli-robot-san isn’t a love bot; she’s a robot made to coax people’s protective nature. I’d say that’s a monolithic waste of potential. Politicians only protect unborn kids, so again I reiterate — a loli love bot could unravel everything from who killed JFK to how much horse meat is in Taco Bell. Anyhow, Eita and Makina needed to catch Mimika, which meant that Makina had to use Mimika’s body (friendly reminder: using a loli’s body — that’s bad, m’kay?). But desperate times equal stupid measures, so Makina acquiesces only to realize that Eita likes them young. In the eternal words of Forrest Gump, “That’s all I have to say about that.” But before that … a busty girl changing into a loli … I’ve seen this before.
Yet all their ruckus was for naught, as Mimika was hiding in their attic like a rabid squirrel. And when Makina’s leg popped out, she descended from the roof like she was Mumbai street food-induced diarrhea — quick, purposefully, and an enemy to one’s health. Surprised by this, Eita and Makina are blindsided, and a naked Mimika captures Eita at knifepoint, and so ends Makina-san a Love Bot?!, episode 7.
My Brain Trembles
Two things came to mind at the end of the episode. First, I recalled General Butt Naked. I’m sure I’ve mentioned him before, but for those who don’t know, he was a Liberian warlord. Why do I mention him? I mention him because he and his soldiers (the Butt Naked Brigade) fought naked during Liberia’s civil war. They believed that fighting naked granted them protection from bullets. They weren’t the only ones to do so; many warriors and insurgents believe nudity is helpful in battle. If you think about it, it makes sense. Would you rather fight a dude in armor or one whose willy is flopping in the wind?
Second, let me drop some Kashou lore — I’ve had a naked woman hold a knife to me before. You can assume rightfully that I got away with very few repercussions since I’m here memeing that encounter. So, here’s some advice: keep wasp spray in your room. Wasp spray works as well as pepper spray and has a far greater range. So, unless a naked girl falls on you like a drop-bear or catches you from behind like in Makina-san a Love Bot?!, episode 7, aim for the eyes and mouth, run, and then call the cops.
This Show Deserves More Love
Last I checked, Makina-san a Love Bot!? hovered at the 5.80 rating range on MAL. That score may put it above Yandere Dark Elf, but it’s below Please Put Them On, Takamine-san — that’s a shame, these shows deserve way more love. Why others see ecchi shows as less entertaining than the 500+ isekais that come out every season is beyond me. But I’ll admit my bias because I have a special place in my soul for this show.
Occasionally, a lot happens in a short time. The last three years showed me that. I’m often told I don’t laugh and smile like I used to, and I agree. Yet whenever I bum my buddy’s OceanVeil account to watch Makina-san a Love Bot?!, I know I’ll get a reprieve from life’s maladies. That’s something that very few things can boast. This show gives happiness. I doubt there’s more heartfelt praise than that.
