Iori and the gang awkwardly reconnect with familiar faces at an isolated island campground.
Episode 11 — “Let’s Go to an Uninhabited Island!”
Hmm.
Mean girls master the art of pushing buttons. They wield weapons beyond just fists or chainsaws. Grand Blue showed us how Sakurako wormed under Chisa’s skin by finding the one sore spot she has. Oh, and you had another think coming if you thought one sincere heartbreak could redeem Sakurako. She still believes she can charm any man she sets her sights on. And that’s why she felt compelled to knock Chisa down a peg for the audacity of being Iori’s “girlfriend.” But taking down Chisa wouldn’t mean pushing her to the ground. Oh, no. Mean girls fight differently.
Sakurako picked up on Chisa’s loner instincts and suspected the younger sister had a complex about how outgoing Nanaka was. The tsundere identified these issues after only one day with the staff of the Grand Blue diving store. And so, to lift herself up, Sakurako attempted to bring someone else down. And it worked! Chisa would never have drunk herself into a rip-snorting stupor without Sakurako’s prodding. The mean girl has a longer road ahead on her redemption tour. And Chisa should learn to overcome her aloofness and shyness without resorting to binge drinking. Or, at the very least, practice first. We already know how much liquor Nanaka can hold!
Grand Blue Makes Me Go Heh.
I enjoy these scenes of Iori and Azusa experiencing boredom together. They make me think they’ll end up together. Azusa complains about the lack of Nanaka ass shots this summer. Same. Sadly, Nanaka pulls on her wetsuit too quickly for Azusa’s ogling. We need a beach day! Yeah, Grand Blue! Are you listening? Oh? What luck! Nanaka must fill a chartered boat and camping trip after some cancellations. Let’s go to a deserted island!
We have the Peek-a-boo core plus Naomi and the idol, Maya Kizuki. Uh, oops. Azusa and Iori were less than candid about their boat trip to an island campground. Foreshadowing from Grand Blue. The island already has another group on it. Har. Chisa punishes Iori for his lies! On that note, Naomi just learned they were “technically” in a relationship. Ahahaha! Now Chisa must lie about why she likes Iori so much! She can only talk about how well he chews food, but Naomi eats up the praise for Iori!
Deserted island, but recreation grounds. Let’s pitch tents, wear bikinis, catch seafood, and burn it! Kouhei still finds it impossible to talk to his beloved oshi. Thanks, Grand Blue. Show us male crotches but no female parts. I notice Naomi doesn’t change clothes with the Peek-a-boo dudes.
Beach Games and Bikinis!
Yes. Yes! It’s bikini time! Azusa and Iori celebrate. What the…? Oh no! Peek-a-boo’s rival club, Tinkerbell, is also on the island! And Sakurako, too! Was it a blessing that Aina went home to her family farm instead of meeting these people who ridiculed her in the first season of Grand Blue? Sakurako’s friends are even thirstier than she is. That doesn’t sit well with the Tinkerbell dudes when their guests only care about the Peek-a-boo guys and Naomi. Worse, the Peek-a-boo girls hate the Tinkerbell guys.
Hey! It’s the Grand Blue beach episode! Let’s decide who hangs out with whom through beach games! Wait a minute. They’ve just been hanging out together!
Whoops. Sakurako just learned Iori has a “girlfriend.” Keep your eyes on the prize, Tinkerbell. Its members want to hang out with Peek-a-boo’s women. They suggest a drinking contest. Big mistake! Ack. Sakurako and her friends goaded Chisa into joining the drinking games. Drinking postponement! It’s time to catch food for campfire cooking.
Grand Blue Dares to Booze it Up!
Sashimi looks good, but feeding Naomi doesn’t. Chisa? Why are you so jealous? Let’s burn some meat! And drink! As usual, the Peek-a-boo crew sets up a drinking game based on dares. Lewd dares? Aw. No lewdness because Kouhei could die if “someone” did “something” to him. Uh oh. Chisa believes that participating in a drinking game will improve her customer service skills.
Ack! Chisa got the first cup of liquor. Hahaha! People worried about Kouhei dying from a love-based dare, but Grand Blue’s group should watch out for Nanaka! Oh no. The second cup also went to Chisa! You know who wrote the dare about reciting a magical girl transformation. The kids dared each other to wear pancake makeup, chug mugs, and sing theme songs. Fun! Oh man. Liquor makes Chisa’s entire body flush. She rambles drunkenly about customer relations. Game over, Chisa. Game over.
Flat Justice Comes for Grand Blue
Now Chisa can expose her naked body, and Iori can take in an eyeful. Sakurako’s dig at her people skills bothered her so much that she still obsesses over it. Oops. How red is Chisa’s chest, Iori? Yes, thank her for the meal and then run for your life! Uh oh. The liquor finally dropped Chisa. Iori thought she had fallen down a cliff, but it was the guy from Tinkerbell!
