Elon Musk Announces Purchase of J-List
Austin, TX: Today, Elon Musk, founder of Tesla, SpaceX, and PayPal, announced that he had reached an agreement with Peter Payne to purchase J-List Co. Ltd., the anime retailer Payne founded in Japan in 1996. A longtime fan of anime and follower of J-List on social media, Musk has been a secret customer of J-List, and had long wanted to partner with Peter to create exciting new products for anime fans around the world.
Elon Musk first met Peter Payne at a convention for online payment providers in New York City around 2004. “I overheard Peter talking to another one of my staffers about how much he liked the PayPal platform. Hearing Peter’s passion for selling products from Japan to customers all over the world, as well as his love of anime and Japanese pop culture, made me smile.” Musk started keeping one eye on J-List from that day.
Elon Musk said he has four goals for J-List in the future, which are:
- Assisting Peter in expanding J-List’s distribution of anime figures and hentai products internationally using his existing networks, including Tesla.
- Exploring the development of innovative new 2D waifu products by working with Japan’s top ero companies like Tamatoys.
- Providing funding for the additional seasons of series that fans want to see, starting with Highschool of the Dead season 2.
- Although the technology is several years off, Elon plans to help fund genetically-augmented catgirls in order to enhance the future of humanity, and distribute them through J-List.
Elon Musk outed himself as an anime fan in 2018, causing the Internet to go wild at the news that the serial entrepreneur was one of their own, a fan of anime and related pop-culture from Japan.
Mr. Musk’s purchase of J-List was for an undisclosed sum, paid for in Dogecoin.
