The Queen of Thighs is, by far, Chun-Li, Capcom’s leggy Street Fighter fighting game icon. As a role model, highly playable, and a standout example of female game character design, Chun-Li has always been capable and strong. That’s why we love her.
But also, thighs.
Let’s check out some of the best Chun-Li cosplays on the internet.

Never Skip Leg Day
We can make thigh jokes all day (we have yearly in-office reviews of our butt and boob jokes), but Chun-Li is one fit lady.
Developing a female fighter who could hold her own against the boys could have gone horribly wrong. Chun-Li needed to be a contender, without Ryu or Guile’s manly muscles. Character designer Akira Yasuda put her muscles into her legs, inventing her believably muscled yet feminine look. Not bad for a character that almost made it to launch in pants, rather than the tights we know her for.

Akira Yasuda liked thicc women, and you can see the influence of his kink on Chun-Li’s massive thighs. Her character design sold Chun-Li’s athleticism and speed, while leaving no doubt about the power backing her flashing feet.
By Street Fighter III, Chun-Li was 70 percent leg. Well done, Akiman-senpai!
Chun-Li Cosplays Bring Bare-Knuckle Fight… Or Bedroom Brawl?!

On-Screen Chun-Li Cosplays
Chun-Li has had three notable portrayals on screen. Okay, two notable portrayals and one barely mentionable cinematic disaster. You take what you get.
Ming-Na Wen’s Chun-Li Hit Right
Long before she had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ming-Na Wen’s first big screen project was Street Fighter (1994), alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raúl Juliá. Wen played Chun-Li. As cheesy as the movie was at times, Wen has said the intense training for Street Fighter was formative for later roles she’d play, such as Agent May and Fennec Shand. Wen has ticked some big geek boxes throughout her career, but she’ll always be Doctor Deb to me. PhD in butt-kicking!
Kreuk’s Chun-Li Missed the Mark, Chan’s Crossplay Smashed It
Kristin Kreuk played Chun-Li in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009). They say the internet never forgets, but in the case of Kreuk’s Chun-Li, the internet was never interested in her to start with. The film was a flop, recovering only $12.8 million of its $50 million budget at the worldwide box office.
But, of course, Jackie Chan played the Chun-Li we love the most in City Hunter (1993).
Like Chan’s performance, Chun-Li cosplays are just as diverse and fun.
Creative Chun-Li Cosplays Concoctions
Chun-Li’s lovable, recognizable character inspires many cosplays, both vanilla and creative. Even creatively crazy. Here are more Chun-Li cosplays representing the Lady of the Spinning Bird Strike. (Call the FAA!)

Legs. Wrapped.
Cosplayers love tackling Chun-Li cosplays because Chun-Li is a great character, and you can’t go too far wrong with the Kenpo Queen. The thighs are the real challenge, but with some clever camera angles and poses, anyone can take on the aspect of our Queen of Thighs.
