Student councils are a mainstay of most anime or manga series with a school setting. These elite students govern certain parts of their schools. Their power and authority are second only to the staff. However, not all student councils are the same. In fact, some would rather have fun outside of school. Operating a school’s governing body sounds boring, after all. Others try to keep the school running while avoiding harem flags or rarely run for reelection due to the difficulty of operating a council. Let’s count six cute girls without whom their schools would falter. We’ll see what sort of council they could build together before school starts in September.
1. Shio Kamakura (Hamidashi Creative)
Shio is technically a former student council president. She joined the council to gather notes for a book and resigned when she finished. Shio still spends time with her friends and still works with the council. She has a mischievous and manipulative personality. Coupled with her keen mind, she would do well in a more general affairs position. Shio needs material for her writing, and someone needs to keep up with their students’ needs.
Madosoft released the original Hamidashi Creative visual novel on September 25th, 2020.
2. Kaguya Shinomiya (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War)
Kaguya is the cold and calculating vice president of her student council. She is also a member of the archery club. Despite her cold demeanor, she has become fond of a specific guy in the council but stubbornly refuses to confess to him first. Kaguya would ideally keep her vice president role in the student council. She wouldn’t need to deal with the public too much.
J-List has several student council anime figures in stock. The Kaguya Shinomiya Nendoroid Doll from Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is available to purchase right now.
Aka Akasaka released Kaguya-sama: Love Is War from May 19th, 2015, to November 2nd, 2022. Shueisha published the series in the Young Jump Comics imprint in 28 volumes. A-1 Pictures premiered its anime adaptation on January 15th, 2019.
3. Satsuki Kiryuin (Kill la Kill)
Satsuki rules the school with an iron fist. She naturally stands as the student council president. Despite her iron-fisted rule, she has a lax magical uniform policy, such as it doesn’t need to cover much. Satsuki would do better as a disciplinary officer in a new student council. Not all schools are like Honnōji Academy.
J-List has plenty of tough-looking schoolgirl anime figures in stock. The Ryuko Matoi L Size POP UP PARADE Figure from Kill la Kill is available for purchase right now. If you can’t have the big sister, the little sister is right here.
Hiroyuki Imaishi directed, and Kazuki Nakashima wrote this anime series for Studio Trigger. 24 episodes and one OVA aired between October 4th, 2013, and March 28th, 2014.Hiroyuki Imaishi directed, and Kazuki Nakashima wrote this anime series for Studio Trigger. 24 episodes and one OVA aired between October 4th, 2013, and March 28th, 2014.
4. Chizuru Akaba (Student Council’s Discretion)
Chizuru acts as the secretary of her academy’s student council. She delights in performing this role because it lets her play with President Kurimu. She’s intelligent and charismatic enough to become the president herself but prefers her current role. It’s a position she should keep moving forward.
Aoi Sekina and Kira Inugami released the original Student Council’s Discretion light novel between January 19th, 2008, and January 20th, 2012. Fujimi Shobo published all ten volumes in the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Studio Deen’s anime adaptation premiered on October 2nd, 2009.
5. Misaki Ayuzawa (The Class President Is a Maid!)
Misaki is a firm yet fair student council president. She worked hard to gain her position to “protect the girls from the rowdy boys.” Misaki also works at a maid café to help pay off her deadbeat father’s debts. She maintains her workload with dignity and poise, befitting her position as the council president. She would have to win the position from another current president.
Hiro Fujiwara released the original The Class President Is a Maid! manga series between December 24th, 2005, and September 24th, 2013. Hakusensha published all eighteen volumes in LaLa. J.C.Staff’s anime adaptation premiered on April 1st, 2010.
6. Medaka Kurokami (Medaka Box)
Medaka is a true prodigy. Whether it’s academics or supernatural martial arts, she is a peerless woman with a peerless figure. Medaka implemented the titular suggestion box to improve addressing the student body’s needs. She would continue to do her best as the council president if she can keep it from Misaki.
Nisio Isin worked on his manga series from May 11th, 2009, to April 27th, 2013. Shueisha published all 22 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump. Gainax’s anime adaptation premiered on April 5th, 2012.
