If you’ve attended Anime Expo in Los Angeles, you’ve most likely seen or eaten from the Okamoto Kitchen food truck. I’ve eaten from there a few times just because the food truck was anime-themed and my inner self couldn’t resist.
Last month they launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a 10-episode English-dubbed comic “webtoon” series that will follow the adventures of Haru and the rest of the team from the Okamoto Kitchen food truck.
As of press time, the campaign has a total of 7 days left and has raised a total of $40,310 USD with a total of 419 backers. The funding goal of $48,000 USD will cover the costs of 10-episode English-dubbed comic “webtoon” series which will be fully voiced.
They streamed “episode 0” for the project to introduce you to the series.
Each episode of the planned series will be three to five minutes in length and will have limited animation. You can check out more details about the goals on the Kickstarter page.
They also streamed an interview to help the campaign, which you can watch below.
Below are the character designs for Haru-chan. The project page shows designs for other characters in the story.
