If you’re extremely shy — too shy to ask a crush out on a date or completely clueless on how to ask her out — worry no more. A Japanese company will contact the object of your affection to ask her out on your behalf!
A proxy service company called Kokunavi has been helping out single shy people by asking their crush out on a date as a stepping stone to a romantic relationship. The company’s name is a mashup of “kokuhaku”, which means “navigation” or “confession of love.” While the service seemed to look like it’s intended for shy men, shy girls can also reach out to the company to use their service as well.
While they’re not a matchmaking service, as they don’t keep a database of single people who are in need of a companion, they certainly help people get together.
If you’re interested in their service, note that all sales are final and no refunds will be given to you if that girl rejects you at the end of the day. Like most businesses offering a service, they have a number of plans to choose from. There are three plans, perfect to meet your specific needs:
The Simple Course will cost you 29,000 yen (around US$260), which is covers conveying your confession of love to that special someone. Next, there’s the Support Pack Course, which hires the company’s kokuhaku experts to plan the location, time, date, and romantic words to confess to your crush. Getting this package will cost you 59,000 yen.
Now, if you’re really madly in love with this person and you’re willing to go through heaven and hell together with her, then the third package, called the Premium Course, is for you. Priced at 140,000 yen (US$1,340), the company will go through a lengthy process of analyzing the girl (or boy) to find what she likes, dislikes, and other information which they will use to plan out for your date and confession of love. A higher probability of success if expected, “as long as you know who you want to confess your love to,” according to the company’s promotion for this package. They also say, “we can help you plan everything else.”
Valentines doesn’t need to be lonely for us shy types anymore.
