Every honest otaku admits they only know a few franchises through doujinshi or R18 art. For instance, Kashou gleefully admits that the bulk of his Blue Archive knowledge comes from doujins and Pixiv art. There are so many Seika the Sex Fox R18 memes stuffed into my memory that every time I see an actual fox, I remember lewdness. I don’t see that as an unfavourable thing. Some say that it’s a disservice to reduce a franchise to fap material. There’s merit to that. But when you look at a franchise through an R18 art filter, it lets you focus as much on the artist as on the franchise. And that introduces you to a lot of lovely creatives. And today I’ll highlight three of those creatives and the Blue Archive doujins you can buy from them.

Matanonki, Horizontal Archive, and Lovely Ladies
I’ve mentioned it before, but one of the best parts about being part of the J-List family is introducing/being introduced to new R18 artists. I didn’t know about Matanonki until I saw his and Horizontal World’s Horizontal Archive. My Blue Archive knowledge was limited then, but it was obvious there were two camps in the franchise. Some people like thick, busty BA waifus, while others prefer the petite ones… Matanonki is in the latter camp. A two-second glance at the cover for the 190-page Horizontal Archive shows that.
A quick browse of his work reveals his preferences, but it also reveals his skills. It doesn’t need to be said that an R18 artist knows how to present lewdness. But Matanonki excels at intricate backgrounds and overlooked details. His work includes stained glass-like mosaics, dazzling color schemes, surreal botanical depictions, and calming night ambiences. And that made me smile. I appreciate R18 art that pays attention to the details surrounding the lewdness. Give Matanonki a follow here and here.

Beijuu’s Devilish Punishment Game — A J18 Publishing Blue Archive Fan Favorite
A while ago, I was browsing the J18 doujin.io free doujin site and ended up on Beijuu’s Devilish Punishment Game — a Blue Archive doujin featuring Mutsuki. Now, I’m partial to petite waifus, but Mutsuki reminds me of an albino lizard that lives in my shed. So Devilish Punishment Game wasn’t for me. His art, however (imagine Kashou doing a chef’s kiss), captivated me. I believe that what makes someone sexy/erotic isn’t a gifted body or looks — it’s their ability to provoke and allure. Plenty of R18 artists present sexual content that lacks allure. But Beijuu’s work abounds with that “Come here and find out” vibe.
Kashou avoids talking to strangers. But if a stranger who looked like a Beijuu heroine whispered to him from a storm drain, he’d quickly wiggle into that sewer. And Kashou thinks that you’d do the same. Beijuu is one of the handful of R18 artists who like both sides of the Blue Archive spectrum. And best of all, most of his work is uncensored. So you can enjoy unfiltered lewdness! Your life could use more sexiness, so follow Beijuu, and like his work on Pivix!

Why I Love Wisespeak’s Art and Doujins
I could pontificate about the artists the J-List store has introduced me to — there are that many. But among them, Wisespeak (Wise Peak) quickly became one of my favorites.
I first learned about this R18 artist while writing about Blue Archive figures and looking for doujinshi to link in the article. That search led me to their Wakamo, Izuna, Me, and the Beach Blue Archive doujinshi, and I was instantly hooked. I know Wakamo makes that statement seem sus. But I adore Izuna’s character design. And more importantly, Wisespeak’s art has that “slice-of-life” vibe, and I’m smitten with it.
Additionally, Wisespeak has a noticeable shading style. My narrow-minded thoughts associate everything with the outdoors and craft beer. Wisespeak’s shading reminds me of the soft colors of late afternoon. Kashou knows that to others that association means little, but it fills him with blitheness. But more things make Wisespeak’s art so alluring. Their art has a certain realism. Too often R18 artists give anatomy a middle finger and draw unbelievable body proportions. Thankfully, Wisespeak isn’t averse to uneven proportions. Give them a follow and pick up a copy of Wakamo, Izuna, Me, and the Beach Blue Archive.
