One isekai series trait that really lures people in is seeing the protagonist living out their dreams. Most isekai protagonists start as bored students or salarymen who then embark on grand adventures and meet amazing people. Well, the protagonist of Isekai Koushoku Musouroku ~Isekai Tensei no Chie to Chikara wo, Tada Hitasura ×××× Suru tame ni Tsukau~ (Record of Lustful Warriors: The Rod Master’s Unstoppable Conquest in Another World) simply operates on a completely different level.
Masao Masugaki died a virgin while watching some high-quality JAV, and now he only wants to get laid. Let’s take a closer look at how his isekai goddess grants his wish in this cultured manga review.
Great news! J-List has started a new sale on all books! Through June 8, you can get 18% off all books and magazines. This means 18% off all gorgeous Japanese photobooks, hentai manga and doujinshi, awesome anime and ecchi magazines, and more. Start browsing now!

Let’s get this out of the way first: Sao is the best harem isekai protagonist around. Hell, he’s one of the best harem protagonists, because Sao actually gets laid.
Too many “harem” series chicken out at the last minute. Either there’s a “best girl,” or the guy ends up alone. Best harem protagonist Sao gets laid by chapter 2. And he swings a 5-way by chapter 42. And that doesn’t even include all the girls he’s slept with. He might actually get 100 girlfriends well before the series ends! Genghis Khan will be proud.
Ikuhito and Ohana-chan released Isekai Koushoku Musouroku on February 28th, 2023. Kodansha has since published seven volumes in Young Magazine.
The Lust-Filled Tales of Isekai Koushoku Musouroku
Masao Masugaki died an unfortunate death in Japan: he masturbated straight through the floor and landed on his neck. Even the attractive goddess Ada Ruto pitied him. Ada granted his wish to live a fun and “exciting” life in another world, even after he propositioned her to take his virginity. Yeah, he made a pass at a goddess. Insert “he’s just like me” right here. Hey, she sent him off by planting a kiss right on his southern prong, so the odds are good that he bags a divine waifu.

Now going by “Sao,” our hero with a magic “rod” is sent to a magic, medieval world to be raised by a single mother with a killer body. Sao awakens his “Rod Master” (Saoshi) job for fun and adventure. His arousal grants him cheat-like abilities to smite his enemies in pitched battles and turn enemies into allies. Yes, the power of boners makes him unstoppable. Then again, why is the one assassin they capture a girl? Why is the feared captain of the royal guards a woman with a killer body? It’s like the world is set up for him to get laid. The fights aren’t easy, but allow Sao to pull fun new lewd spells.
The Girls of Isekai Koushoku Musouroku
Just like the yuri harem series, the girls here are as varied as can be. Anyone can find their best girl. The tomboy knight from Team Plot? His first lover. The prince-like mage that starts off as a stuck-up noble? Sao shows her to be proud of her smaller, inverted justice chest.
Varied body types aside, I respect Sao for easily side-stepping the caste system and familial ties to build his otherworldly harem. He takes commoners, nobles, and even royalty alike and makes them equal under the weight of his goddess-blessed “rod.” It’s nice that the girls might just be bi enough to be fine in an orgy with one guy and many girls.

Here’s why Sao is the best: he got the coveted oyakodon, the mother/daughter threesome, in chapter 5. He took his adopted mother and sister to bed to heal his wounds after taking down an army of goblins and their giant leader, and satisfy his lust. Damn, I respect this man. He then seduced the noblewoman they were hired to protect, the angry Scottish girl who doesn’t wear panties, her master, a seasoned adventurer, their teacher named Whip (who wields a whip), the Queen, and a flaming fire spirit. Yes, the power of magic boners lets him bed a girl made of fire. He pounded through the burn wounds. You get the point: the man gets around and takes the crown for best harem protagonist outside of straight-up hentai.
The Art of Isekai Koushoku Musouroku
The girls look amazing. The art makes me appreciate those different body types. The Queen is past her adventurer days, and her desk job took its toll on her fit body. Sao boned her down and made me enjoy that thicc body. Hell, the giant girl even looks appealing. And I further appreciate muscle girls when Sao seduced the angry, tan Scottish girl. She’s not actually Scottish, but she’s angry, wields a claymore, and wears a kilt.

I want to talk about how well the girls’ expressions are done. The stoic queen and the angry Scottish girl can, on a dime, melt and show pure excitement. Even the Scottish girl keeps her anger when she’s making out with the guy she likes snapping at.
Now the cosplaying. Sao’s Rod Master lets him manifest different spells, from healing to lock-picking. One of his newest spells lets him forge magic armor that heals, resists poison, and majorly buffs stats. This armor is, naturally, a bikini-style. Because of course it is. Whip-sensei gets BDSM gear because Sao is cultured. His magic powers are regenerated by having sex, so it all balances out.
As an aside, the Scottish girl doesn’t wear panties, and her bikini armor comes with bikini bottoms. I don’t know how I feel about that.
The Rod Master’s Conclusion
I hinted earlier, but there’s more plot in this series than Sao’s regular groping. Sao is a warrior and adventurer, and faces great danger to save the people he cares about. He takes on a goblin horde, giant insects, assassins, and a royal usurper. The battles aren’t easy, but he faces them with courage. Of course, he bones down girls before, during, and after each encounter. The point is, there’s more to Sao than building a harem in another world, and I got invested in Sao’s adventures both in and out of the bedroom. That’s why I give this series a solid 5/5 on the Megumi rating system.
If you need more lewd isekai harem fun, we at J-List recommend Motto Haramase Honoo no Oppai Isekai Chou Ero Succubus Gakuen. There are more monster girls here. Sao would have fun there.
Are you a fan of isekai harem series? Do you think Sao ranks up there with the best isekai harem protagonists? Is there a chance in heck this gets an anime adaptation? Let us know in the comments below.
