Get ready for a kawaii, comedic, and ecchi good time — the anime adaptation of Hisamakumako’s Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi premieres on April 11. The production company behind the CGDCT anime released the show’s main trailer and visual ahead of its premiere. Staff also released the anime’s opening and ending songs. Sophiá la Mode will perform the theme song, “Ciao Ciao.” BanG Dream! alumni, Mugendai Mewtype will handle the ending theme, “Yawayawa NERD Cho FreQuency.”
REMOW will distribute the anime globally.

Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi Production Details and Synopsis
Meiko Morita is a humble (spelled POOR) girl from the countryside. Like most people in her situation, Meiko dreams of a better life, not only for herself but for her family. Being an astute lass, she knows that one’s future is dependent on one’s means. However, one day, an opportunity falls from the sky. Well, an opportunity falls in the form of a flyer from a newspaper she’s delivering, advertising a paid live-in study position at a prestigious all-girls’ school. Besides her studies, she’d get a hefty allowance in exchange for some work. Thinking that it could be an opportunity to improve her life, Mekio applies, and to her surprise, gets accepted. But when Meiko gets to Tokyo, the work waiting for her is… a live-in manga café?!
Studio PRA, known for Bikini Warriors, will animate Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi. Toshinori Watanabe (Tokyo Ghoul:re‘s director) will direct the series. Other production staff members include:

Hisamakumako’s Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi debuted in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara as a guest author in May 2018. The magazine approved a serialization and released four tankoubon volumes.
