Umamusume: Pretty Derby — Beginning of a New Era Races to the West

Pokke’s legendary race heads to the West just in time for the Year of the Horse! The great racing horse girl Fuji Kiseki inspires Jungle Pocket to become the fastest horse girl around. However, Agnes Tachyon easily surpasses her in their first race. T.M. Opera O and other horse girls help Jungle Pocket on and off the race track to help achieve her dream. We’ll see how far Pokke goes when Umamusume: Pretty Derby — Beginning of a New Era (Shin Jidai no Tobira) premieres in the US on February 27th, 2026.

Cygames released the original Umamusume: Pretty Derby mobile game on February 24th, 2021. Huan “ZECO” Yu and Katsumi Nakayama released the Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Haru Urara Ganbaru! manga series from May 8th, 2016, to September 11th, 2016. Cygames published the full series in Cycomi. P.A. Works’s anime adaptation premiered on April 2nd, 2018.

Pokke Races to the Finish! Umamusume: Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era

A young Jungle “Pokke” Pocket is inspired to become the fastest racer around after watching Fuji Kiseki win a heated race. Her first step is to join the prestigious Tracen Academy to learn from the best. To her delight, she’ll learn from Fuji Kiseki’s former trainer. Pokke excels on the track and remains undefeated until she comes up against Agnes Tachyon at the G1 Hopeful Stakes. Agnes completely dominates the track and leaves Pokke in her dust.

Pokke’s defeat leaves her sullen until T.M. Opera O inspires her to get up and keep running. However, Agnes Tachyon continues to prove her supremacy on the race track. She approaches every race with a keen, analytical mind. Her races are won in the mind before she even takes her place on the track. She’ll watch Pokke find a new pace and work with even more horse girls, such as Manhattan Cafe and Dantsu Flame. Pokke and Agnes will continue to race and find a certain truth at the finish line.
