Mission: Yozakura Family Season 2 Pursues the Spy Waifu

Taiyo’s life has recently taken some drastic turns. He lost his family in a terrible car accident, and now endures crippling anxiety. Taiyo is afraid of losing more loved ones, so he refrains from forming new bonds. However, his childhood friend’s overprotective older brother has provoked him into proposing to her to save both their lives. We’ll see how fun and dangerous his new married life becomes when Mission: Yozakura Family (Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen) Season 2 premieres sometime in April 2026.

Hitsuji Gondaira released the original Mission: Yozakura Family manga series between August 26th, 2019, and January 20th, 2025. Shueisha has since published all 29 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump. Studio Silver Link’s anime adaptation premiered on April 7th, 2024.

Mission: Yozakura Family Cast

The newlywed couple and her grandmother are as follows:

Taiyo Asano — Reiji Kawashima (Patrick / Ricky from Shadows House). Taiyo is an orphan who abruptly joined a family of spies.
Mutsumi Yozakura — Kaede Hondo (Shigeru Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Taiyo’s childhood friend and the future head of a family of spies.
Tsubomi Yozakura — Yukana Nogami (Fubuki Azuma from Chained Soldier). Tsubomi is the first head of the Yozakura family.

Mission: Yozakura Family. Failure Is Not an Option.

Taiyo Asano has struggled to cope with the loss of his family. He lost his mother, father, and younger brother in a terrible car accident. Taiyo has since pushed his friends away out of fear that he’ll have to watch them die as well. He simply can’t handle any further pain. His childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura, has stayed with him through thick and thin. She understands his pain and helps to keep his head above water. Their deep bond has incurred the wrath of someone quite close to Mutsumi.

Kyoichiro Yozakura is the eldest child of the Yozakura family, and he takes his position very seriously. He’s especially overprotective of Mutsumi after saving her life from a terrible incident in the past. A new assassin has appeared to target Mutsumi’s life, and apparently, it’ll be someone she’s known for years. This leads Kyoichiro to target Taiyo’s life. Mutsumi and her siblings quickly save him and offer him a chance to survive: he has to marry Mutsumi and join the family. Taiyo will have to train and earn his place among a family of superpowered spies.
