Another clumsy pink-haired witch has appeared to forge her own legend. This one might not be a tsundere, though. Spica dreams of becoming a great witch, but her lack of talent makes that a far-off dream. A chance meeting with a cursed cat might be just what she needs to pursue her dreams and enter a premier magic school. We’ll see if she can make the cut when The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch (Kuroneko to Majo no Kyoshitsu) premieres sometime in April 2026.
Yosuke Kaneda released the original The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch manga series on March 16th, 2022. Kodansha has since published twelve issues in Magazine Pocket.
The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch Cast
The inexperienced witch, one of her friends, and her new feline teacher are as follows:
- Spica Virgo — Kaede Hondo (Shigeru Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Spica has aspired to become a great sorceress after the legendary Claude saved her life.
- Aria Aquarius — Fuka Izumi (Utena Hiiragi/Magia Baiser from Gushing Over Magical Girls). Aria is Spica’s magically gifted friend. She offered to take Spica as her student in exchange for her body.
- Claude Sirius — Nobunaga Shimazaki (Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen). Claude is a legendary sorcerer whose reputation is currently in tatters.

Welcome to The Classroom of a Black Cat and a Witch
The great sorcerer Claude Sirius saved Spica Virgo from a terrible attack, inspiring her to become a sorceress who protects others. However, her lack of magical talent and knowledge is a hurdle to her goal. Her friend Aria Aquarius takes some joy in seeing her fall during her attempts to fly. Aria even offers to train Spica in exchange for her body. However, this offer goes nowhere, and Spica soon finds another teacher.
Spica meets a talking black cat who promises to teach her magic in exchange for some special service. His demands for food and drink escalate to forcing Spica to search the royal library for a magic tome to undo his curse. The cat explains that he’s really a human who was cursed to take on a feline form. The Book of Providence reveals that Spica can undo his curse with her Rebirth Magic. The only way for an inexperienced Spica to help him is to kiss his butthole. A heretic and monster soon lay siege to the archives, forcing Spica to remove the curse and allow the great Claude to save their lives. However, it’s not a permanent cure. He’ll have to get her into the Royal Diana Academy and teach her how to become a peerless sorceress to achieve both of their goals.
