The Japanese language has some amusing quirks that allow its Netizens to invent so-called holidays through delightful number puns. Take today, November 4, which translates to “Nice Ass Day” — more on the linguistics later. For us shameless weebs, it’s a thinly veiled excuse to celebrate derriere in all its glory, with the best ass cosplay from our favorite cosplayers!
Join us today on the J-List Blog as we observe this significant and definitely official holiday, the Japanese Nice Ass Day!
Number Puns: The Ass-end of Linguistics
So, how exactly does a calendar date translate to an entire phrase? The Japanese often utilize their numerals and letters to create colorful puns. In fact, much of Japanese culture derives from various puns in their language. For November 4, when represented in the Japanese/American way (11/04), substitute “1” for “i(chi)” (or い), “0” for “o” (or お), and “4” for “shi” (or し).
Put all that together, and we get いいおし (ii oshi), so adding “ri” to the end makes “oshiri” or “bottom/buttocks.” Slap on の日 (no hi) and you have the whole phrase, いいおしりの日 (ii oshiri no hi) or “Nice Butt Day.”
That was quite taxing on the old brain muscle, so let’s examine the largest muscle in the human body — the gluteus maximus — with these amazing ass cosplays.

Ass Cosplay — Isn’t This Part Where You Talk About Cancer?
Unlike our recent articles, such as No Bra Day, this blog post doesn’t have any charity associations or scary health advice. Although there are all sorts of health problems you can get related to your nether regions, the worst that can befall your reliable buttocks is probably some bed sores. If you’re curious, Healthline has some good stretches for your tight glutes.
Whoops — guess we accidentally gave you some health advice anyway. We can’t seem to kick the habit, can we? Let us apologize with the next batch of clever ass cosplay photos.

What Makes a Nice Ass Cosplay?
In pulling together these cosplay posts, you may (correctly) assume that we have to sift through an enormous number of ero cosplay. Naturally, just as casually watching the Olympics turns every viewer into an armchair expert in Equestrian Dressage, cosplay posting has turned us into critics.
For a theme like today’s ass cosplay photos, we looked for cosplays that were still recognizable from the rear — such as characters with signature hairstyles or outfits. One thing that stood out most was the clever use of mirrors, allowing viewers to see both the front and back of the cosplayer. Taking a good lewd photo requires more skill than you might think!
