Typically, the use of the words “uncensored” and “Crunchyroll” in a sentence always indicates a complaint. But, to my surprise, Crunchyroll grew some balls and aired the slightly censored version of Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun! I know that the phrase “slightly censored” doesn’t inspire confidence, but there were oppai and nipples. Those, my dear reader, are two things that bring joy into my depressed life. This is especially true since the oppai in question falls into the “medium is premium” category.
I’ll say it right at the start to save everyone the trouble: Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun isn’t a bastion of originality. If I had a doujin for every ecchi show that has a bimbo protagonist rooming with a bunch of hot girls, I’d have about 3 doujins. That’s not to say the show lacks novelty. Hina Suguta (Marin Kitagawa) voices Aroma in Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun! And by the gods above, the sounds that woman makes are enough to push Magia Baiser into a convulsing orgasm. That raunchy fact is but the censored tip of the show’s perversion. Let me gush about it for a bit.
Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun — A Summary and Horniness-Fueled Thoughts
You have to commend an anime whose opening scene involves its MC grabbing ass and then hauling ass.
Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun started with Koyo’s introductory monologue (which covered all the usual dorm-centric ecchi anime tropes). Much like Koshi in Mother of the Goddess’ Dormitory, poverty and family circumstances forced Koyo into his position as a dorm caretaker. Koyoshi wants to be a sports doctor, but his financial situation wants him to be a call center agent. So to reach his dream, he’s stuck working as a caretaker at Seiwa University High School.
I must admit, I’m not familiar with Japanese customs. However, I am familiar with the practice of knocking on a door before you enter a room. The only time you’re not supposed to knock on someone’s door is if you’re visiting Eddie Murphy’s house. In that situation, you say, “I’m Rick James b***h” and grind your dirty boots on his couch. But apparently, money isn’t the only thing Koyo-kun lacks — the dude also lacks manners. Koyoshi barged into his new home/place of employment like he was collecting overdue rent and immediately saw a girl naked, fondled another one, and got his ass beat. And that was the first 5 minutes of Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun.
Even More Horny Thoughts…
Three minutes later, Koyo was giving the waifu (Aroma), who beat him with a broom, the massage of a lifetime.
It’s at this point that the radical left and brain-dead right spasm about obscenity. You can already read the comments on X and FB. “Why does the girl need to be naked during the massage?” “Why does she need to be sexualized?” Well, have you ever wondered why Americans dip shrimp in Fruity Pebble batter and turn it into a sandwich? The answer to that, much like the answer to the horniness in Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun, is simple: BECAUSE THEY CAN!
After a steamy and comfy Aroma x Koyo scene (CHAT! We found our tsundere), the school’s chairman visits the dorm to introduce everyone. And with that, the first episode of Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun concludes.
Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun — It’s for the Cultured
Will Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun make it to Anime Corner or Anime Trending’s anime of the season? Absolutely not. Will Studio Quad’s animation leave a mark on the ecchi work? HA! But at the same time, this anime is the equivalent of a Triple Whopper. I know I’m not consuming anything of substance. But I’ll eat a bunch of them, and it significantly increases the happiness in my life.
Hisashi Saitou both directed and handled the storyboard for the anime. Surprisingly, a 12-minute AnimeFesta show managed to secure such a renowned director. For those who never really look up a show’s production staff, Saitou-sensei directed Heaven’s Lost Property and The Testament of Sister New Devil. That’s enough to know that Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun is in good hands. Mayasuki Fujita of Attack on Titan and KonoSuba fame is the animation director. Ryuusuke Tsukamoto, who worked on The Apothecary Diaries and Genjitsu no Yohane, is credited with the character designs and as chief animation director.
Takuya Shinjo wrote and illustrated the Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun manga. Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket has serialized the title since May 2021. The publisher has compiled the manga into thirteen volumes.
Do I Recommend It?
HELL YEAH, BRUDER!! Of the three ecchi shows we’re getting this season, this seems like it’s going to be the most entertaining. I’d rate it an 8.5/10. While that may seem low, only three shows this season started with a 9 or higher. The voice acting is eloquent and captivating. The show’s artwork is a bit above standard. Again, I know that doesn’t inspire confidence, but we all know how horrid ecchi animation can get. So by all means, do give it a watch. Crunchyroll streams the slightly censored version of Hands off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun. The fully uncensored version is available on OceanVeil.
