Shinmai Ossan Bokensha has proven that it’s never too late to go on an adventure. No matter your skill or age, go out and chase your horizon. The protagonist of I Parry Everything: What Do You Mean I’m the Strongest? I’m Not Even an Adventurer Yet! (Ore wa Subete o “Parry” Suru: Gyaku Kanchigai no Sekai Saikyo wa Boken-sha ni Naritai) was told to give up on his dreams of becoming an adventurer. He didn’t of course and it’ll turn him into a legend. We’ll see how that happens when this anime series premieres sometime in July 2024. We have a trailer to enjoy until then.
Nabeshiki posted the original I Parry Everything novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on October 17th, 2019. Earth Star Entertainment obtained the publishing rights and hired the artist Kawaguchi to adapt the series to a light novel format. This new run began on September 15th, 2020, with seven volumes currently published in the Earth Star Novel imprint.
The man who can deflect all and the beautiful princess are as follows:
- Noor — Daiki Hamano (Guile India from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). Orphaned at a young age, Noor dreamed of becoming a great adventurer like the people his father told him about. His mediocre skill levels made this dream seem impossible.
- Lynneburg “Lynne” Clays — Ryoko Maekawa (Omega from The Eminence in Shadow). The princess of the Kingdom of Clays. Noor saved her from a monster attack and thwarted an assassination plot.

I Parry Everything to Protect the Princess
I Parry Everything is an apt title for the hero’s skills. Noor grew up hearing tales of great adventurers forging their own legends. His parents passed away when he was young, but he never gave up his dream of becoming an adventurer. Noor’s dream seemed far off given his lack of useable skills. He trained as much as possible, but his skills were all at the lowest level, and only applicable to everyday uses. His most powerful skill was Parry, though he didn’t see it as being useful. Noor also possesses above-average strength and stamina, but his lack of confidence worked against him.
Though his skills seemed useless, they came in handy when Princess Lynne Clays became the target of a rival kingdom’s assassination attempt. Noor maintained his humble attitude the entire time the princess and king wished to heap praise and reward on him. This fateful meeting would guide Noor towards his life as an adventurer.
