For all orders shipping from Japan, J-List will include free snacks for you, randomly picked by our staff. These will include chocolate products like Angel Pies or Koala no March, rice crackers, Japanese Kit Kats, and other yummy items. This is our way of thanking you for your warm support all year long!
Not every order will receive the free gift of Japanese snacks. We won’t include them if doing so would damage your order, for example with thin books like hentai doujinshi, which could be warped by including the snacks. Calendars in shipping tubes are also hard to include the snacks with. If your order is large enough to ship inside a box, then we’ll include some free snacks for you!

Why is Black Friday a Thing in Japan?
Naturally, Japan doesn’t have anything like an American-style Thanksgiving. But just like they’ve done with Halloween and Christmas, the Japanese are adept at importing good ideas from the outside world and making them their own.

But Japan being Japan, companies are putting their own unique spin on the shopping holiday. For example, convenience store Family Mart is having a buy-2-get-1-free on all fried foods, because it’s “fry-day.” I love a good pun almost as much as I love their soy-sauce flavored FamiChiki fried chicken!
Lots of other stores are having fun, too. Amazon Japan is having a “Black Products Sale” where you can save money…but only on products that are colored black, or which have “black” in their names. You can even grab some Black-Haired Kobe Beef at a discount on their site.
