A Study in Scarlet
Undead Girl Murder Farce presents a unique world wherein humans can live alongside supernatural creatures. The likes of vampires, werewolves, and demons all fall under the banner of “demon.” As human ingenuity rose, these beings were on the run. A deal was outlined in France where the demons could live alongside humans as long as they vowed to never harm a human. Despite this agreement, not all was well. Even those demons who made the vow were looked down on.
A world away in Japan, a demon woman was beheaded by a half-demon, and her body was taken away. Aya Rindo (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa) survived the ordeal as just a head. She’s a brilliant woman, but she still requires help getting around. Tsugaru Shinuchi (voiced by Taku Yashiro), who was injected with demon blood that turned him half-demon by the same assailant that beheaded Aya, and the maid Shizuku Hasei (voiced by Makoto Koichi) provide all the help they can. This is typically done by carrying Aya’s head in a bird cage, which has granted Tsugaru the title of “The Cage User.”
Aya and her team have fled to Europe to uncover the truth and locate her body. In 1898, in Givre, France, a vampire noblewoman, Madam Hannah, was staked in the chest with a silver stake, and her body was doused in holy water. Afterward, her husband, Sir Godard, hired private investigators to handle the case.
Beyond this case, Aya will match wits with the likes of Sherlock Holmes (Shinichiro Miki), Arsène Lupin (Mamoru Miyano), Carmilla (Reina Kondo), and Jack the Ripper (voiced by Soma Saito).
