Ah, fan service. Whether a show uses it sparingly as a bonus “hot springs episode” to thank fans for tuning in, or whether the sexual visuals define the entire series, most anime shows provide at least some eye candy for fans at some point. The Best Fan Service Moments from the Winter 2022 Anime Season!
Tokyo 24-ku is an exciting future-esque anime with some exciting characters… and some sexy fanservice to make sure fans are paying attention.
It’s great to have the return of From Common Job Class to the Strongest in the World, a series that, rightly or wrongly, appeared on our list of the Top 10 Worst Isekai Anime. It’s nice to see the show’s sexy visuals, though getting excited by such obvious CGI is not easy for an old-school fan like me.
If you’re going to tell a story about girls finding friendship through fishing, you naturally need to slip in a yuri scene every once in a while. I totally approve of this.
Many anime series maintain a 100% no fan service policy, never showing so much as a single panty shot, even while fans are encouraged to create “rule 34” fanart of the characters in “doujin” form. Princess Connect is one such series.
One show that was super subtle in the sexy fan service is slipped in is Akebi-chan’s Sailor Suit, which told a simple story of a girl pining to go to the same junior high school as her mother so she could wear the school’s beautiful sailor suit. The studio is having lots of fun slipping in sexy foot fetish and other fan service scenes, which we naturally go wild over.
While fans love to quake in fear that Sony will introduce censorship in anime now that they’re such a dominant player in the industry, the fact that this show is made by Sony-owned Aniplex and Cloverworks gives me hope that this won’t be the case.
Kenja no Deshi is another show to introduce some fun sexy ero scenes to lighten up the story for fans. Are you watching?
Who among us wouldn’t want to be transferred to an isekai world as a cute anime girl? That’s the premise of Isekai Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan, and naturally, there are some comedic sexy scenes to enjoy.
Of course, the series that won both the hearts of fans as well as the shita-gokoro — the “lower heart,” meaning our base desires for sex — was My Dress-Up Darling. Do you support Marin Kitagawa supremacy?
While some fans doth protest too much about sexy scenes in anime, I believe anime fan service is important to modern fandom. Here’s a blog post I wrote on the subject!
Marin wasn’t the only character to provide fans with pleasing visuals. Juju also gave us some views that we (and Gojo-kun) won’t soon forget.
As a fan of sexy anime, I really want to like World’s End Harem, the story of a future in which a virus that kills only males has wiped out nearly all men… except for a few lucky enough to be in sleep stasis at the time. As each of the girls tries to mate with the few remaining male main characters, we get a lot of eye candy to enjoy! Unfortunately, the characters are largely unlikable, and a more thoughtful story would have been appreciated.
Make sure you watch the uncensored version of the series if you check it out, to avoid ridiculously bad black bars from blocking your view.
Serious fans know that there are many kinds of fan service, and violence and death can also provide an emotional payoff for fans that sends our hearts soaring. There are many moments like this in the final season of Attack on Titan.
Fans of #KarakaiJouzuNoTakagiSan #Takagisan got a nice easter egg episode starring the daughter of “the girl formerly known as Takagi-san.” It was adorable as expected.

Finally, perhaps the best “emotional” fan service moment for me in the current season didn’t involve any ero scenes at all, but an uplifting and adorable one for fans of a certain woman formerly named Takagi-san.
