Yes! Censorship!
Censorship is a thorny issue, and one that gets J-List’s readership riled up faster than you can say “cancel culture”. Speaking entirely on my own behalf, any action taken to limit the breadth and depth of a conversation is bad news. Silencing voices is dystopian, even barbaric, especially in the information age when we’re supposedly all enlightened.
Thank you, manga, for dealing with the issue so well…
Tokyo Revengers, by Ken Wakui, will be published, in English, by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the first volume arriving on shelves, hopefully, by May 2022. The manga has come under fire for the use of the manji, the left-facing swastika or sauwastika, which is used as a symbol of the Manji Gang featured in the series. Unlike the anime version that streams on Crunchyroll, which removed the symbol, the manga will add a cultural note explaining the symbol’s meaning.
Symbol will not be changed (there will be a cultural note). Pre-orders for the standard edition will soon be live at retailers across the world.

Hadouken! on the Table Top
It’s Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game, and it’s coming out next year!
The game was originally a Kickstarter-only product that launched in 2018. Now it’s coming to retail with pre-painted miniatures, an updated rules system, more tokens than you can throw a blue energy ball at, cards, dice, and a double-sided game board. You’ll be able to enjoy this with one to five nostalgic friends.
Street Fighter: The Miniatures Game was created by Jasco Games and is being distributed by Asmodee USA.
