Although things seem to be improving every day, things can still get pretty stressful for each of us in our daily lives. I decided to ask J-List’s awesome customers to show us their current emotional state in the form of anime images, and this is what we came up with!
Some of us try to keep a positive outlook on things, no matter what the situation is. Which is a pretty good default state to be in, I guess.

The stresses of dealing with the virus and masks and other aspects of life can make it hard to breathe, sometimes.
Of course, we feel the need to maintain appearances, even when we’re screaming internally. Maybe relaxing with some anime after work can help us relax.
Some of us have anxiety issues, and dealing with others can be a daily challenge. Especially when our crushes call us “cute” without warning.
Although we’re unsure of ourselves internally, we have to soldier on, no matter how nervous we might be inside.
The struggles the characters we see in anime can sometimes feel dangerously close to some of our real-life challenges.
With all that’s happened over the past year, some of us may drink to excess sometimes, which is never a good thing.
These mornings can be especially unwelcome when they happen to fall on Mondays.
Often we wake up again we lie in bed wondering why we’re even here, like Rei Ayanami from the Eva anime.
In the case of guys, often we wake up in a certain “genki” state which can make peeing extra-difficult. Thanks to the Cells at Work Black anime, I know that this phenomenon is called nocturnal penile tumescence!
The struggle to get through each day can be such that we can no longer feel pain, so automatic do our reactions become.
Sometimes we feel the urge to go full yandere, like Rena from the Higurashi anime.
And yet, we can usually project a happy exterior for others, as long as no one asks us to take off the mask we wear.
At the end of the day, we fall into bed, exhausted from it all.
We lie alone in bed, wondering where the real us actually resides.
It’s important to ask for help when we need it. Someone will be willing to lend us an ear.
Difficult as it all can be sometimes, I’m here to tell you: brighter days are ahead for all of us. We just need to hold on a little while longer!
So until the current crisis is behind us, remember to wear that mask when out in public, and do your best, one day at a time!

J-List’s sister site JAST USA has been working hard during the pandemic to bring out all the great visual novels our fans have been waiting for. The release of the otokonoko game Tomgirls of the Mountains is coming soon, and we’ve opened preorders for the game now. Remember: all physical package games should be considered “limited” as the games will become 100% digital distribution only once the package versions sell out. So don’t delay, if you collect physical eroge and visual novels!
