- the human ears are for listening to humans, while the animal ears are for listening to animals.
- the human ears (?) are vestigial leftovers, the same way whales and dolphins have the remains of leg bones inside their bodies leftover from when they walked on four legs.
- the extra ears might provide an improved ability to hear, and avoid predators, leading to a survival advantage.
