There’s a lot of stuff in hentai that you can only find in, well, hentai. Sure, things like naughty college students getting it on during a break or big-hipped beauties fooling around in a karaoke room definitely exist in real life. Hentai, however, lets you stretch your imagination beyond what’s possible in real life. What if those college students were an elf boy and a monster girl? What if that beautiful karaoke queen was fooling around with a giant tentacle monster? What if there was a gang of girls sporting beautiful pussies and 15-inch dicks? These kinds of things are only possible in hentai, and in the case of that last example, found in spades in the latest anthology release by Bosshi titled Futabu! Mix.
Futabu! Mix is the sixth book release by acclaimed hentai artist Bosshi, and this one is all about futanari, which is the colloquial term for hentai involving regular women equipped with dicks. Over the course of 224 pages, 12 chapters, and a slew of standalone illustrations, Bosshi has put together a “greatest hits” mix of his most iconic futanari work spanning his entire career. This isn’t just a collection of 12 standalone stories, though. The first 7 chapters of the book collect the entirety of Bosshi’s Futa Club doujinshi series, a popular series of works that even inspired a series of animated adaptations back in 2014. The 2nd half of the book, meanwhile, consists of an assortment of standalone series highlighting a variety of other chicks with dicks.
Before the first chapter of Futa Club, though, we’re treated to over 20 pages of full-color illustrations by Bosshi. Most of these are renderings of the Futa Club cast in sexy pinup posters or raunchy scenarios, and it’s a nice bonus that lets fans of the series see the cast rendered in gorgeous full-color. A few of the other illustrations, though, are older full-color drawings made by Bosshi for previous magazine or book releases he’s worked on. It’s a great assortment of drawings that add something special to the book.
These bonus full-color illustrations are also a treat because of how well done they are. The pinup posters featuring every member of the club are well rendered and high-detail, and give you a great look at their unique designs and outfits. The raunchy illustrations, meanwhile, give the reader a great set of bonus scenarios showing the Futa Club members in action. Soft shadows and well-rendered lighting help create delicate skin tones and realistic clothing materials that make the art on each of these pages really pop. The vivid colors also do a great job of adding detail to the designs of the girls, making their sharp eyes and silky hair stand out even more.
Even without color, the illustration in Futabu! Mix is incredibly well-done. For the most part, at least. See, this book collects works spanning a huge amount of time in the career of Bosshi, and Futa Club was one of his earliest comics. Because of this, the art drastically evolves and improves as you progress through the book. Because of this, some of the early chapters are a little weak. Faces aren’t drawn very sharply, and the lighting and shadows are either incredibly flat or downright nonexistent.
Later into the book, though, Bosshi really starts to come into his own and nail down his art style. Faces and bodies are drawn a lot cuter and softer, and there’s a huge improvement in the shading that adds some much-needed depth to the artwork. Characters throughout the book tend to have pretty similar faces, but every other aspect of their design tends to be more varied. From different heights to different measurements or hair-styles and even the size and shape of their genitals, there’s enough variety in the look of the girls in Futabu! Mix that you won’t feel like you’re looking at the exact same character for all 12 chapters.
That variety in design is best shown off by the girls of the iconic Futa Club that take up the first half of the book. The premise is pretty simple and basically lives in the name of the series. Akane-san is the newest member of the high-school Futa Club, a small club made up of girls with dicks. Some of them have small dicks, and some of them have massive dicks, but they’re all extremely horny. However, Akane is the only girl there without a dick. She joined the club hoping to relieve the stress of the horned-up members, and spoiler alert, she does just that. A lot.
The Futa Club chapters are essentially horny slice-of-life vignettes. There isn’t a whole lot of character development or drama happening over the course of these 7 chapters. Instead, you get a peek into the daily horned-up lives of the club. A lot of the chapters focus on the club president, a tiny blonde girl with a seemingly equally small penis. However, the truth is that she keeps her member taped up because, when let loose, she’s got the biggest dick out of the entire club. So big, in fact, that it makes her faint if she gets fully erect. One chapter sees her trying to deal with her pent-up sexual frustration using a variety of sex toys, while a couple of other chapters see Akane and the vice-president having their way with her while she’s tied up. The dynamics between all the club members are fun and entertaining, but these chapters focusing on the president are a particular highlight.
The 2nd half of Futabu! Mix is a collection of unrelated anthology stories, but they’re still about beautiful girls who are packing heat. One of the standout stories from this 2nd half is A Demon Comes in the Night. In this, a lonely girl with a dick that won’t quit is up late masturbating for hours on end. She accidentally ends up attracting the attention of a gorgeous succubus with her raunchy behavior, though. The succubus starts having her way with the girl, promising to end her life by the time they’re done together. However, as the night goes on and the well-endowed girl shows no signs of being near death, the tables start to turn in an interesting direction.
Bosshi is an iconic artist in the world of hentai, and Futabu! Mix is an all-star anthology of some of his best work. The care and detail put into every page is obvious, and the full-color drawings and bonus sketches that bookend the anthology make it an even more enticing package. Fans of futanari owe it to themselves to pick this up, and people without the taste for that kind of thing might just change their mind if they grab this release.
