With Fire Force’s manga coming to an explosive end, fans might worry that the end of Company 8 is in sight. But fear not fans! Season three of the Fire Force anime has officially been announced! While details on the season’s release aren’t forthcoming just yet, there’s no doubt we’ll have the talents of studio David Productions to see us through this next arc.
It’s also unknown if there will be any staff changes this season, such as Tatsuma Minamikawa taking on the role of art director and series composer for season two. And no worries for those who need their Fire Force fix while waiting for the next season. A Fire Force mobile game, titled Fire Force: Flame Dance, has been announced for release sometime in the future. More information on the game is likely forthcoming, and it’ll be interesting to see what route the game takes as far as the story is concerned.
Originally debuting in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2015 and authored by Atsushi Ohkubo, the series was serialized by both Kodansha and Kodansha US the following year. Seasons one and two of the anime were announced in 2019 and 2020, and are currently available on Crunchyroll as well as an English dub on Toonami’s Adult Swim programming block.
The synopsis of Fire Force is as follows:
Tokyo is burning, and citizens are mysteriously suffering from spontaneous human combustion all throughout the city! Responsible for snuffing out this inferno is the Fire Force, and Shinra is ready to join their fight. Now, as part of Company 8, he’ll use his devil’s footprints to help keep the city from turning to ash! But his past and a burning secret behind the scenes could set everything ablaze.
It’s always great to see an anime get a new season. Not just so fans can continue with the story in an animated format, but in many instances, it can sometimes be the only way fans can interact with the story at all. This is especially true in places where manga sales are expensive, limited, or even unavailable.
