At a Water Park With the Nakano Sisters
The Quintessential Quintuplets~ likely acts as a stand-alone special with little overarching plot connecting to other entries in the series. Futaro Uesugi (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) goes to a water park with the five Nakano sisters. Their names are Nino Nakano (Ayana Taketatsu), Yotsuba Nakano (Ayane Sakura), Itsuki Nakano (Inori Minase), Ichika Nakano (Kana Hanazawa), and Miku Nakano (Miku Ito). They all have fun while furthering their own relationships together. The Nakano sisters are, after all, each romantically pursuing Futaro. Unfortunately, he’s not likely to get the harem ending he clearly deserves. The original series concludes with him marrying only one Nakano girl.
The Quintessential Quintuplets series typically follows Futaro as he works hard to get by. His mother is gone, and his father incurred a massive debt. He likewise doesn’t have many friends to call upon. Futaro is academically gifted, which he puts to use when the comparatively wealthy Nakano family hires him to tutor their five daughters.
The pretty Nakano sisters are initially against Futaro’s very presence. Additionally, they’re not fond of schoolwork, and their terrible grades reflect that. However, his dogged tenacity eventually wins them over, and their resentment slowly turns into love.
The Quintessential Quintuplets~ Origins
Negi Haruba wrote and illustrated the original manga series. Kodansha published The Quintessential Quintuplets between August 9th, 2017, and February 19th, 2020, in the Weekly Shonen Magazine in fourteen volumes.
Tezuka Productions adapted the series to anime format from January 10th, 2019, to March 28th, 2019. Afterward, Bibury Animation Studios continued the adaptation from January 8th, 2021, to March 26th, 2021. Bibury also animated a full-length movie on May 20th, 2022. The voice cast essentially remained the same. The actresses portraying the Nakano sisters have also performed music as the characters. In fact, they performed the opening song, Go-toubun no Mirai, and the ending song, Takaramono, for The Quintessential Quintuplets~.
In addition to the manga and anime, there were numerous video games, and even exhibitions, dedicated to The Quintessential Quintuplets.
If anyone out there is eager to bring home a couple of Nakano sisters in swimsuits before July 14th, then the J-List shop has them covered. Available now: the Ichika Nakano & Miku Nakano 1/7 Figures from The Quintessential Quintuplets section.
